Bidding & Buyer Responsibilities
Binding Agreement: Placing a bid is a legally binding contract to buy the item if you win.
Availability: Buyers must pick up during the posted pickup window, or arrange shipping on lots where it is offered.
Account Forfeiture: Failure to pay, missing pickup, or any fraudulent activity may result in permanent loss of bidding privileges. Fraud will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Abandoned Property: Items not claimed by the end of the pickup window are considered abandoned and will be disposed of at our discretion, without refund.

Payment & Billing
Payment on File: A valid credit/debit card or PayPal account must be saved in your CTBIDS profile before bidding.
Automatic Charges: Winning bids and all related fees are charged automatically to your primary payment method:
Invoices under $5,000: Charged in full when the auction closes.
Invoices of $5,000 or more: A 10% deposit is charged automatically. We will contact you to arrange payment of the remaining balance.
Buyer's Fees: An 18% Buyer's Premium and applicable local sales tax are added to the winning bid on every lot.
Payment Deadline: Auction invoices must be paid by 6 PM the day before local pickup, or Caring Transitions may re-sell the items.
Clearance: All payments must fully clear before any items are released for pickup or shipping.
Bid Retractions: Buyers cannot edit or delete a bid once it is placed. To request a retraction, contact us within 24 hours of the auction closing. Retractions are not guaranteed.

Auction Mechanics
Proxy Bidding: Enter the most you are willing to pay. The system bids for you in standard increments, only as much as needed to keep you in the lead.
Soft Close: A bid placed in the final minutes of an auction briefly extends the countdown. This gives every active bidder a fair chance to respond and prevents "sniping."

Item Condition
As Is, Where Is: All items are sold strictly AS IS, WHERE IS, with no refunds, returns, or exchanges.
Wear & Flaws: Expect normal wear on vintage and antique items. Not every minor flaw or blemish will be listed in the description.
Electronics: Unless stated otherwise, electronics are tested to power on only. Full functionality is not guaranteed.

Pickup (Local Buyers)
Scheduled Pickup: Local pickup is by appointment only, during the posted pickup window. Pickup details are sent through Shipping Saint (email/text) the day before.
Loading & Supplies: Bring your own help, tools, and packing materials. Our staff cannot assist with heavy lifting or loading.
No-Shows: Unclaimed large items incur a $75 disposal fee, and bidding privileges will be suspended until the fee is paid.
Alternate Pickup: If you cannot make the scheduled pickup window, we may be able to arrange another time for shippable items:
Shippable items only: $50 per invoice, no matter how many items. These items are moved to our shipping department, so scheduling is flexible. Call or text (813) 734-7297 to request.
Non-shippable items (furniture and large pieces): alternate pickup is not available. If you cannot attend the scheduled pickup, text (813) 734-7297 before pickup day. Non-shippable items not collected during the scheduled pickup window are forfeited and subject to the No-Shows terms above.
All items won under one buyer account are combined onto one invoice. The convenience fee is added to your CTBIDS invoice and must be approved and paid in full before your alternate pickup is scheduled.

Firearms
All firearm purchases must be legally transferred and picked up through a licensed local FFL dealer. The buyer pays all firearm transaction fees:
Handling Fee: $25 to deliver firearm(s) from our location to the designated local FFL dealer.
FFL Transfer Fee: $45 per firearm.
FFL Dealer Shipping (Handgun): $35 flat fee (up to 5 handguns).
FFL Dealer Shipping (Long Gun): $50 each.

Shipping (Where Offered)
Eligibility: Shipping is available, at the buyer's expense, only for lots marked with the blue truck icon. Lots without the icon, or marked "Not Shippable," are local pickup only.
Restricted Lots: Large furniture and "Not Shippable" lots will not be shipped without pre-approval. Text (813) 734-7297 before bidding to discuss options.
Shipping Address: Keep your shipping address current in your CTBIDS profile before bidding.
Fulfillment: Once the auction closes, winners receive an email/text from Shipping Saint to choose local pickup or shipping.
Shipping Invoices: If you choose shipping, a separate invoice covering actual carrier postage, packing materials, and a $15 handling fee per invoice is issued within 3–7 days after the local pickup event.
Carrier & Insurance: We use the most economical carrier and insure each shipment for $100 or the lot value, whichever is higher. Books ship via Media Mail. Tracking is sent automatically once the package is labeled.
Payment Deadline: Shipping invoices must be paid within 14 days of issue. On day 15, unpaid items are forfeited without refund, may be disposed of at our discretion, and bidding privileges are suspended.

Returns & Protection (via Seel)
Final Sale: All CTBIDS sales are final. Eligible items may qualify for optional third-party coverage through Seel:
Make It Returnable: Optional return coverage on eligible items. Return requests must be started within 7 days of pickup or delivery.
Delivery Guarantee: Optional coverage against carrier damage, theft, or loss on shipped items.
Both options are offered at checkout and are included automatically with a CTBIDS Premier Membership.
Service Terms: Seel coverage is a contract between you and Seel, not CTBIDS or Caring Transitions. Start claims at resolve.seel.com or email Returns@Seel.com. Buyer's premiums and shipping fees are non-refundable.
