See you soon! Lulu and Tracy

See that apothecary case in the corner?! It’s fabulous. Mirrored sliding doors and it is missing the top piece of glass, but that’s an easy fix…Pretty cool lamp there and that’s the one piece of stained glass we have but it looks great in this 1940s house with all these windows…I had so much fun staging this sale! Lots of interesting items and display pieces. Those are two vintage model glove hands...One of my favorite pieces is that strange rabbit hanging off the window and if you look in the corner on the right, there are some pretty neat photo plates that look good in a window. And don’t forget that cute dinosaur shaker! This crazy gal was part of a piece that the artist here had done, but that disintegrated. We do love this headless lady…Beautiful cake plates and champagne/martini glasses. Menorah’s!… We have the tiny candles to go in the small one…Ahhh… love that vintage mirror. I will tell you that one of those birds is missing. You can ask me why when you see me :-) Having one is fine though! Honest! The king is in the house…Yeah, this lamp looks kind of old-fashioned but it really is beautiful when it is lit up. And it keeps good time too…I always like staging with the florals that come across our sales…Oh boy! Some nice vintage pieces here and there are lots of masks around the house. A few have been given to the owners friends, but there are plenty to look through.Great pair of Tony llamas… I think they are size 8 or nine women’sWe got to know these masks intimately :-) When you first have to see over 50 masks you have nowhere to start, but then you become familiar as you handle them. They were all taken off high high up on the wall walls and cleaned...The apothecary display case from many many years ago. We love those handmade face brooches! Very clever. The artist was a photographer and had quite a few series with large pieces involving photographs. This is a favorite…You are now entering the library! My adorable assistant started in this room and did a bang up job getting it ready for me to do the final staging. Please know that lots of books will not be priced, but you will bring me a stack and we will come up with something for you. Great photo catalogs and magazines plus a variety of ephemera pieces. You know I love my color coordinating and this is the orange/red room… Some beautiful pieces in here for you folks who love the bold and the beautiful!Any Mercedes-Benz folks out there? We’ve got some great books that go back away on the history of the Benz. And how do you like my cheese grater light! Hahaha!Any German World War II history fans out there? I think it’s important to understand the Nazi movement, especially with what’s happening today in the world…A nice Cornbread piece here… And one of the creepier masks! It’s simple, but I think it’s the bamboo teeth that get me…That is a beautiful red chest that those items are on…Nice vintage retablo and don’t shy away from those two strange masks behind the red chest! Check them out…Lots of really good cookbooks and some local stuff in the collection. I’m attracted to that velvet poof pillow…That is an interesting primitive piece at the top from an Alabama artist…OK! We were entering the women’s room and this is one of three card catalogs that we have. We’ve sold one but two are up for grabs…I am sorry to report that some assholes broken to the house after we had the garage sale and stole 37 pieces of clothing! But, we still have some fine things left… plus some other fun things in this roomThese very large framed pieces are by the artist who lived at this house. He once “wallpapered“ with postcards an entire exhibit room: floor, wall, and ceilings! All with Florida postcards… you will see some great smaller pieces throughout the house for purchase…We handpicked all the clothing, and very few are fast fashion…Another pair of cowboy boots over there plus a couple of custom covered foot stools that are so pretty…Some really nice handbags in the collection as well…Linens and pillows oh my! there are some nice vintage chairs around the house…OK… Now we are entering the artists crazy-ass studio room, which took us a long time to get organized. You will not see tons of the art priced so we will have to bargain on that but take your time looking through here if you are of a mind to…And there’s the artist himself! There are several of these large format Polaroid self portraits in the room. Some are framed and some are not, but they’re crazy! The kaleidoscope postcard series with all Florida postcards. Really beautiful….Ta da! Lots and lots of interesting work that this fella did with postcards for exhibits all over the United States….Those crazy things hanging up our screen printed pieces… Either done by the artist or it was a project for one of his student groups. He was an FSU professor. Those other pieces are little packets of fun vintage photos for people like me who like to look at other lives!OK, so one of the shows that this artist curated at a museum was the gun show and there are so many interesting items here related to guns and what they do to people…Also, quite a few camera pieces that were still left in the house…Veeerrrry large metal mask!A couple closets have got posters, photos, postcards, etc., etc., for you to poke through…The artist produced a project using encyclopedia photos, and I think every letter in the alphabet is represented on these very large pieces he has throughout the house….Here’s the black-and-white encyclopedia series…Entering the kitchen! It’s rather like looking at photos of Havana, Cuba with their crumbling buildings… I found it rather comforting once we cleaned out the huge mess throughout the house!A couple of the larger masks…Some interesting small pieces in this collection that is next to the kitchen…. i’m thinking that be Jesus there :-)I cut this fabulous vine down in the jungle here, and it actually started growing again! And sorry… That bluebird painting is gone. One of the artists friends has itReally beautiful and old cabinet plus fabulous mirror and other treats in this room… This was one of my favorites to stage. Used to have a nasty dryer and other crappy stuff in here!Love the blues and greens in this room… Nice mirror that’s hanging up there too…Back in the kitchen and the next few pictures are just odds and ends. Usually, I throw all this stuff in the garage but whatever :-)We just kept out the more important things that people always use. I needed to use every spot in the kitchen for good stuff...I’d like to see what someone can make with that fun cast-iron fish pan!Ann Landers has a lot to tell you so think about a friend you may need to give one of these advice booklets to :-)Lord… Please let the oyster industry come back to life because somebody needs to shuck me some damn oysters!A nasty old oven used to sit here, but my assistant made quick work of that and we sold it but look at these fun items here.…Well, these are actually back in the women’s room, but they’re Kate Spade and they’re brand new. They just need the tips on the heels! Somebody please try these on for me!Purses and bags- all nice quality…A sweet mask in the little green area in the kitchen…We really have quite a few nice glass items in the sale. This is in the kitchen area…;Blue blue blue! It’s all about the blue. I’m not usually fond of this kind of pattern, but I do like it and have used those cups several times while we’ve been working…..Our artist was into bones and skulls so you will see a few scattered throughout the house… Tracy has tried to identify them so you must pick up one for your child :-) you know how they love creepy things!Another view of the blue in the kitchen with some of the artists postcard kaleidoscope on the walls…Oh boy! This was one of the first areas I staged… There was a huge refrigerator here that we had to clean and get the hell out of the house so we could have space for our stuff!!Off to the side in a little kitchen nook is the green and browns of the collections… I do love that strange porcelain cabbage head! I have to think to myself… Why was that made!?A few nice cloche type items here to display your prettiest…Oh dear… This is a strange little baby head lamp that we love!I wish I was that little cow kid on top of a pony right now :-) I’ll be ready to do some cow poking after this sale I can tell you that…I think this is probably my favorite mask in the house. It’s the shade of green that I like so much and the elegant strangeness of it…If you’ve noticed, we have several large white animal porcelain‘s in the house. Anybody with a German Shepherd? I do love the white collections…A couple of these masks may not be there because those thieving bastards stole some of those when they took the clothing but again, there are still a lot of masks around the house…Very fine example of the vintage beaded flowers in a wreath. Spectacular example. They could be taken apart and used for another project as well...I will admit that these two are sort of hiding in a corner because they are creeping me out!Look closely! What do you see in this jar??OK… Now we get to the Artist’s “Tablet“ series… Many of these concrete and resin pieces that he laid in all sorts of crazy ass objects. There are many in the house here and a lot more outside. This was a body of work that was quite popular. They are heavy though!Such a pretty faux peony bouquet…Eek! So realistic! The artist used some of these in his work, but I just love the weirdness of them...There is a grand view through this picture window of this 1940s home. Lots of bamboo and a variety of invasive plants to look at :-)This is in a room that has lots of mixed items from several collections. Take your time to poke around in here…A lot of the artists large format Polaroids are in the art room plus staged around the house...A really great primitive cupboard with all sorts of goodies here…Bones and marbles and metal cars and boxes and trinkets…Neat small metal mask. Love the verdigris.OK, you’re going to want to check these pieces out… Part of the artists Object poles. Pens and corks and Q-tips and razors, etc. etc. etc. Quite impressive altogether here...A detail of one of the shelving units here with all kinds of interesting items.… I think my faite things are those primitive figure pieces that are hanging on that tree..A beautiful Example of a concrete leaf form… I remember Tallahassee nurseries used to carry some, but this is a unique display piece for a large country table…A full view of this section in the dining room…Day of the dead piece…Fantastic!Fishers of the world! Tracy did a great job going through all the fishing gear and we have several boxes for you all to look through….I so like to see the fishing laws and especially love the names of some of them! Except maybe those rubber worms:)Beautiful work Tracy! All together now….Yes… that is a real taxidermy fish on the wall. I love how it displays nicely with those scallop shells above it…A very signed Oaxacan alebrija to add to your collection. It’s a nice size as well…So damn cute! I’m not talking about the two figures in the foreground that are doing the nasty but those little elephants:)Beautiful colors here! And such fine items… Check out the cast concrete foot in the middle;)Another fish and a fine amateur painting of still life with watermelons!A gorgeous beaded Haitian piece… It’s not cheap, but please do enjoy it before we ship it off to a gallery unless you just HAVE to have it!Full view of the dining room…Huge! This is the largest mask in the collection and has been our centerpiece on the wall because to be frank, we have no other place to hang it!Santos slaying…be damned you devil! This is an important piece of work by Mark Messersmith. Please inquire if you are interested…Hahaha! We got a big kick out of several of these police shooting practice posters! We have several…Step right up and have your fortune told:)A very vintage signed wall piece of a flock of seagulls:)Delicate and very fine collectible angel fish…Sale PictureThere are some very fine old pieces on this gorgeous mahogany map file case that is in the house… horns anyone? The Artist collection had quite a few of these other standing mask like items. Plus, I love that fish!Full view of this part of the living room. One of the resin tablets was made into a table, which has been helpful with all the crap we have!Bring on the jewelry! Lots of lovely Sterling…Sale PictureFun costume jewelry…Be a queen for a day with this beautiful faux diamond piece…That blue one is catching my eye, but I also like that pretty pink one on top…This grouping is on a rolling display that we will add more to as we sell pieces…Sale PictureWe’re finally outside with all the fun metal/planters/display pieces for your gardens…Take a seat…The artist created over 100 of these Clown faces that he displayed when the city took away his right away in front of his house. Interesting yard art for sure...I’m serious…( of course I’m allowed to be pissy if you guys don’t behave)Wonderful early work from the 50s by the artist when he was in California as an elementary school kid…The famous self portrait tablets with all manner of detritus embedded in the resin….Witchy balls! Keep the bad juju away in your garden…Sale PictureA nice box of copper pieces plus this fantastic Samoan grass skirt that can be fashioned into many things. It’s too damn heavy to wear unless you’re a large Samoan man! A couple more of these old chairs from FSU. They do make great side chairs..One of the fun clown faces the artist produced over the years…
