Bring help (muscle, dollies, blankets, etc.) to remove heavy items. ALL items must be removed by the end of sale on Sunday. Staff is not able to help move large items or furniture.
There will be a holding area on the driveway. You may bring bags/boxes to place in the holding area BEFORE you begin shopping. Make sure your name is clearly marked on the bag/box. You are responsible for placing items in the holding area. Staff will try to assist with putting items in the holding area.
Prices, measurements and other details will not be given prior to sale day. No previews or pre-sales.
You may bring bags, hampers or large bins to gather your items. All are subject to search upon exit.
No food or drink; no pets. We encourage you not to bring small children. This house is very tight with lots of items.
No public bathroom
Please be mindful of children and yourself - you break it, you pay for it
There may be some boxes/bags/wrapping material on hand, but plan to bring your own
This sale is a little different from your typical estate sale. Most items will not be priced. Make a pile and we will give you a very fair price.
Our client's mother was an antiques dealer on N. Florida Avenue for many years. Her store was called Gasoline Alley Antiques. You may have shopped there. I know I did. After she closed the store, she moved everything to her house and continued to buy unique items to sell at local flea markets.
**THE AUCTION HAS CLOSED** We have held multiple online auctions from this location. The house is under contract so we need to sell as much of the remaining contents as possible. There is a current auction running - https://ctbids.com/estate-sale/22043 - which ends on May 31 starting at 8pm. This auction has also been posted on this site.
Winning bidders from the auction will have exclusive access to the sale on Saturday, June 3, from 9-11am. Sale will be open to the public on Saturday from 11-4pm (cash and credit card).
**NOTE - this is NOT a teardown situation, so all fixtures, lighting, etc. will remain with the house.**.
Other pertinent info - this house has been closed up for 8+ years. Utilities have been on and off during this period. Expect mold, dust, what have you, as a result. This is also a very cat-friendly house. Expect the usual kitty-cat smells. Not the best A/C so very warm upstairs.
This is a two-story house with items in every room. Picker's Delight! Extremely tight quarters, similar to the craziness in Filene's Basement back in the day.
NO ATTIC ACCESS. We will try to pull out as many items of interest as possible.
As you look through the photos, any item you see that has a green or blue label with a letter and number combo is listed in the auction. It will be sold prior to the sale on Saturday.
