Now for the good stuff
The Estate of Joseph “Joe” Garfield Moss Jr. (1952–2026).
Joe was a proud Omega man (💜 55 years! 💛) and spent more than 40 years working in engineering and public infrastructure across the U.S. and Caribbean. One of the projects he was most proud of was in Flint, Michigan, where he helped lead the effort to replace lead service lines following the water crisis.
His father, Joseph Garfield Moss Sr., made history as one of Pittsburgh’s pioneering Black motorcycle police officers.
Joe’s grandfather, Charles Franklin Moss (1878–1961), was a painter and photographer who won the 1907 competition to design a new Pennsylvania state flag. In 1914, he also became the first African American admitted to the National Association of Professional Photographers.
