ANTIQUARIAN'S DREAM SALE -- This sale contains rare antique and vintage books, original art, prints, ephemera and hundreds of unusual items. Pictures tell the story but this is one of the Southeast’s – and perhaps, the nation’s – largest Coca-Cola collections that will be sold June 20-23 at the Decatur home of the late Thomas Eskew.

The sale will take place at the Eskew residence and garage located in historic Druid Hills. This is the first of several estate “tag” sales planned to liquidate personal property.

Eskew, a colorful Decatur resident for more than 35 years, was chronicled in the early 2000s in Atlanta magazine and Creative Loafing newspaper for his Bohemian lifestyle and “gatherer” nature. He amassed these collections during his career as an aluminum company executive who traveled throughout Georgia and the Southeast.

On sale days, shoppers may purchase items from the late 1800s to modern day – literally hundreds of Coca-Cola and soft drink metal signs, dispensers, clocks, thermometers, bottles and trinkets, gas pumps and globes, Planters Peanut and other retail memorabilia.

Household furnishings include Empire and Victorian furniture dating from the 1800s, a sterling coffee service engraved "1913," oil paintings, antique chandeliers, early 1900s Tiffany, Steuben and Quezal art glass,  50+ antique mantle and grandfather clocks, a dozen vintage barber chairs, four caskets, vintage and modern books, 2,500 record albums, original Howard Finster and R.A. Miller folk art and incredible ephemera.

Uniquities include two rare Coca-Cola 1930s bakelite radios and 1950s Coca-Cola metal tire holder (both featured this spring on Channel 17 ME-TV's Collectors Club), 1948 Coca-Cola advertising manual (see pictures), rotating 1960s Budweiser Clydesdale beer display, autographed General Lee  model car signed by cast members of The Dukes of Hazzard TV show, 1930s Art Deco floor scales that once graced Atlanta Fox Theatre men's room, early Wurlitzer juke boxes, 1940s metal sign proclaiming the Atlanta's Biltmore Hotel to be the “Reason for Coming to Atlanta” plus whimsy garden art by the late Atlanta artisan Christine Sibley. Also, so we're told, a walrus tusk and large framed sharks' teeth!

Sterling silver includes a heavy 5-piece Barbour sterling tea and coffee set dated 1913, colonial style with all-over flower and leaf bright cut engraving, exceptional International sterling cocktail shaker (largest we've ever seen); sterling B&Bs and butter pats, sterling tumbler bridge trophies, jiggers, nut sets, cookie trays, console candlesticks, bonbons and other smalls.

Also a 32-piece set Wallace sterling “Grande Baroque” flatware; partial sets Whiting “Louis XV” and Durgin “Fairfax;” Kirk Sterling “Repousse” all-silver salad set; sterling small servers, souvenir spoons and dozens of teaspoons; continental sterling servers; and much more.

Silver plate includes Gorham “Chantilly” large handled waiter; unusual pair 21” unmarked candlesticks; several large handled waiters, bowls, bread trays, and numerous plated hollowware pieces.

Art glass includes fabulous LC Tiffany Favrile “Lily Pad” centerpiece; Tiffany Favrile liqueur decanter, six cups; Favrile bowls, stemware, vases, pair of candlesticks; Frederick Carder (early Steuben) Aurene trumpet vase, salt dip, liqueurs; set/5 gorgeous Steuben Aurene tulip shades; set/6 magnificent, pristine Quezal pulled-feather trumpet shades; other early shades and unsigned items; wonderful hand-blown contemporary art glass including huge flat centerpiece bowl, vases, covered jar, smalls; carnival glass vases and bowls.

You'll also find Tiffany Studios bronze deskware such as “Zodiac” square inkwell with original glass insert” and “Zodiac” square pen wipe with brush insert.
