Description & Details
Twenty minutes from Augusta, Georgia is a community rich in history, natural springs, and a secret garden. Bath Gardens, now part of Blythe, Ga, was once a resort community with such notable visitors as President William Howard Taft and John D. Rockefeller. Long gone are the summer homes built to escape the heat of the summer in the nearby cities. But what does exist is a garden built in the 1960s by Alonzo Plumb Boardman, Sr. “Lonnie.” What was once a jungle is now a piece of heaven open to the public, by appointment. Come see for yourself.
Lonnie’s and Lib’s Granddaughter Catherine “Sweetie” Fleming has restored the gardens to their former glory and is leaving them within a foundation. This event is the launching of Bath Gardens as a public venue, available to rent for weddings, parties, corporate retreats, with many more plans in the pipeline to continue her grandparents’ legacy - as a tribute to them and a gift to the surrounding communities. Laurie McRae Interiors was retained to run the estate sale portion of the event. We will be operating under a 30’ x 60’ tent as you pass through the gates. You will feel like you are at an English Antiques Fair. Below are some of the things we are still uncovering
