If you attended Rose Manor's first sale, you know this is a fantastic sale featuring three generations of discriminating collections found at Historic Rose Manor in downtown Douglasville. Built in 1899 & occupied continuously by its original family, Rose Manor is a rambling craftsman-era house filled with a century of possessions from three generations of a prominent Douglas County family.
The home is still packed. Collections from the main house, two outbuildings & gardens include exquisite American & European antiques, oil & watercolor paintings, engravings, prints, books, bronzes, clocks, marble mantel garniture, china, handblown Italian glass & crystal, millefiori paperweights, needlework, fine jewelry, antique rugs, sterling flatware & fine silverplate plus outdoor treasures rarely found in one sale!
TWELVE 19th C. SERVES PORCELAIN PLATES – Set/12 pristine Serves porcelain plates with 1846 date marks (believed to be part of the original 2,000+ piece “Service Ordinaire de Fountainebleau” ordered by French King Louis-Philippe on June 25, 1835 for France's Fountainbleau palace). Plates are imprinted with green “LP” monogram & crowned sunburst “Chateau de F.Bleau” marks. Each plate has a center medallion with radiating spearheads below key pattern wells & borders of beasts & foliage.
R. LALIQUE COQUILLE PLAFONNIER GLASS SHADES – Set/3 Rene Lalique mould-pressed frosted, opalescent glass platonnier shades, circa 1920s. Each underside features overlapping clam shells, 9-inches in diameter, marked with “R Lalique, France.” Shades have holes for hanging wires.
EUROPEAN & AMERICAN ANTIQUES GALORE – Classic George Steck baby grand piano with mahogany case, ivory keys & brass accoutrements; mid-1800s Italian carved mahogany sofa, beautiful French chests, hand-stenciled dressers & bedroom furniture, hand-stenciled china cupboards, massive bank teller's counter (original marble top; great for home bar), Chippendale, camelback & tuxedo-style sofas, gorgeous wood/gilt mirrors, wicker chaise lounger, painted/upholstered screens, Persian rugs (various sizes), antique baby carriage, quilts.
