ESTATE SALE

The estate sale of Theresa “Rett” English, a well-known Macon artist and art teacher, offers buyers a unique opportunity. Theresa was an art instructor at Wesleyan College and later taught at Mercer University and Robins Air Force Base. She was best known as an impressionist and abstract artist who enjoyed working on oversized canvases that often incorporated mosaic tile, stained glass, and gold leaf. Her largest work is a spectacular piece in the sale, measuring 9’ x 5’. She was a lifetime supporter of the arts and was recognized in 1983 with an award of excellence from Governor Joe Frank Harris. Theresa was also a promoter of the Museum of Arts and Sciences and the Middle Georgia Art Association, where she formed classes for private students teaching all ages and artistic levels. Her teaching included free art lessons to underprivileged children and adults, as well as classes for the deaf and special needs persons. Macon is a better place because of the work of Theresa English. The house, including a large art studio and patio, is full of wonderful treasures!
