About Michael  M Zhu:

Michael M Zhu was born and raised in Shanghai, China and now resides in Marietta, GA.  His interest in art developed at an early age, strongly influenced by his uncle, Shiji Zhu, a well known artist and educator in Shanghai.  Under his uncle’s tutelage, he studied drawing and oil painting many years before entering into college.

Michael graduated from Shanghai Tongji University with a fine art and design degree in 1982.  Upon graduation, he taught fine art and design courses at the Shanghai Jiaotong University for nine years.  Michael was invited to teach at Nottingham Trent University as a visiting professor in 1991.  He moved to the USA in 1993 to study for his Masters of Fine Arts degree at Savannah College of Art and Design.  Upon graduation from SCAD, he worked as a senior designer at an architectural design firm.

Michael is active in his local art community.  He is exhibited at several fine art galleries and works with interior designers on commissions for clients.  He strives to create paintings that are both beautiful and simple by identifying and emphasizing the key elements and principles of fine art.  Michael expresses his feelings through the strokes and colors of his paintbrush.  What he seeks is not only the real and unreal but something between the conscious and the unconscious.  He strives to make his technique different from other artists.

Michael M Zhu has works on display at many locations around the world as well as private collections in Asia and the US.

About Mei Wu

Born in Shanghai, Mei Wu's career as a ceramic artist spans 10 years. Her passion for the craft merges with a love of the natural elements, which has travelled across continents and in most recent years has focused on the vivid life style and landscape in America.

Mei Wu’s artwork reflects her identity as a contemporary and senior Chinese woman. Often, the patterns and line work seen in her artwork are inspired by woman’s form and symbol or landmarks seen in the Lands.

Mei Wu continues using the vessel form for creative expression as she finds it carries within it the idea of antiquity – as most cultures have used vessels as icons or symbols on their historical journey. She also adds a contemporary story using dry glazes and textured layers to conjure images of personal experience and landscape, from the lime green lush of her immediate environment to the Atlanta red earth and sun.

Mei Wu wants her work to have a beauty that speaks for itself. She wants the viewer to experience the mystery within the surface, the balance and proportion of the form and the harmony that each piece engenders.

Mei Wu’s work is represented in many public collections and festival and people like and collect her art work.
