The Estate of Marion H. “Bit” Hutcheson, II of Happy Valley Farms

Happy Valley Farms was a multi-generational homestead of the Hutcheson family. The sale will take place in the large Antebellum mansion on the property.

Luckily for us the mansion has been left untouched by time. The family retained a large archive of papers, books, magazines, brochures, and other ephemera dating back to the 1920's. Closets upon closets of vintage clothing can be found on every floor of the mansion. The children's toys were left untouched in the attic for the past several decades. We are dusting it all off and giving you a chance to peruse through and purchase one of a kind items from the cumulation of the Hutcheson family and the history of Chattanooga.

The two kitchens are packed with vintage and antique dinnerware, china, and crystal from days gone by. This a really quirky fun sale with lots of vintage items that are seldom seen anymore. Lots of great booth items.

Come and walk the grand sweeping staircase graced by many a dignitary and debutante, explore the 8 bedrooms filled with vintage goodness, check out the butcher shop with the original Happy Valley Farms Butcher Block which will be offered in the sale, dig through years of local Chattanooga, dairy cattle, and American Saddlebred horse ephemera, and browse the library featuring shelves upon shelves of antique and vintage books.

Pottery by Rookwood, original art by listed artist, Steuben, Hawkes, and Tiffany Glass, a small selection of gold and silver jewelry, vintage fabric and clothing from Saks Fifth Avenue Bergdorf Goodman Blumes Vogue Neiman Marcus & more.

Boxes of cattle and horse ephemera! Jersey cow sale catalogs and other memorabilia from the 40s and 50s with awesome graphics! Equestrian books.

Do not miss this opportunity to experience a piece of our region's history.

Sale will be by appointment only. Please schedule an appointment by texting us at (423) 463-6958 or emailing us at carlschow@gmail.com.

His work consists largely of landscapes, seascapes, and cityscapes depicting his native Boston and northern New England, especially Monhegan Island, Maine. Illustrating magazines and books provided steady work and income, and his etchings and prints attracted popular demand. Gallagher took his art seriously, adapted new techniques, and was open to the influence of European Impressionism. During the height of his career his watercolors were favorably compared to those of Winslow Homer (1836–1910) and F. W. Benson (1862–1910), and his etchings and drypoints to those of James McNeill Whistler (1834–1903).Edouard Pail (French, 1851-1916) original oil painting on canvas.Authentic Tiffany Items including a Favrile LCT Vase and Sterling Vanity SetSale PictureAwesome advertising for Chevrolet Trucks for 1946. Geese are a mainstay. Sitting on the porch you hear their calls all around. An old friend told me that once as a boy Mr. Hutcheson let him fish at the pond at the base of the mansion, but only under one condition, he could not bother his geese.
