Description & Details

Mr. & Mrs. Friedman were well known in Sandersville.   They were involved in many civic initiatives as well as promoters and supporters of the arts. Mrs. Friedman wrote and produced and sang in several musicals bringing a New York flair to our small town.  The Friedman’s also owned 2 businesses in Sandersville, Friedman’s mens shop and The Shoe Box.  Their home is filled with beautiful and eclectic items.  
While it is impossible to list everything you will find in this home, the following list will hopefully give you some idea.

This lovely Asian American table was designed by Mrs. Friedman and made by the local talented craftsman, the late T. Jeff Veal of Goat Town. This piece was purchased by and resided in the home of Mrs. Friedman’s parents, the late Barney and Fannie Kahn of Pelham, Ga. The Credenza (also referred to as the VV 8-1, and later as the VV 8-30) was the first of four premiere Orthophonic models that were introduced in the late fall of 1925, and represented the pinnacle of audio reproduction in the mid-1920's. These revolutionary machines provided far better sound-quality than any of the earlier Victrola models, with superior frequency response, higher volume, and a far less "canned" sound quality than was experienced with the previous generation of acoustic phonographs. For an extra 50.00 you could purchase a model with more designs such as this one.
