Privately Listed Sale
The 40 year collections of Dick & Darlene Plattenberger will be sold in an on-site tag sale May 26th through May 29th. Darlene is a nationally known doll maker and collector and all her dolls will be included in the sale, along with two kilns and hundreds of unopened doll kits and parts and scores of elaborate unopened doll and children's outfilts. The Plattenbergers also collected 30 beautiful figurines by Florence, Italy sculptor Guiseppi Armani that will be available. Of special interest, will be wonderful artwork by artists Marc Chagall, Salvador Dali, Joan Miro, Edna Hibel, Theo Tobiassi, Graciela Boulanger, Zora Duvall and many others. Darlene also amassed a Beanie Baby collection of over 1000. The furniture consists of several pieces of Queen Anne and Chippendale style pieces, many with claw and ball feet. They have a beautiful oak desk and matching file cabinets. They also collected cut glass, cranberry glass, jewelry and collector plates. Their yard was decorated with a dozen sculptures. Their entire household will be for sale including outdoor furniture, luggage, tools, cookbooks and other books and enormous accumulation of tools and miscellaneous items.
The sale will be from 10-5 each day with numbers given at 9 each day. The address is 353 Park Terrace SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403.
