We are now finished working at unpacking everything that was packed away in this spacious Chicago 1920's flat. In addition to LR, DR & BR furniture, there is both a front and back porch with rattan and newer wicker furniture. Mahogany furniture includes a beautiful Mahogany Secretary with Bubble Glass in the top doors, Drum table with leather insert and desk with leather top. We also have a Mahogany DR Table and Glass fronted Hutch.
Lots of collections in this house, the biggest is a collection of over 5,000 Postcards. These are all in boxes and sorted. The lady who collected them specialized in Holidays including Christmas, Easter, New Years, Thanksgiving, Birthday and Valentines Day and Misc. Unfortunately there are no Halloween, but most of the cards date between 1905 and 1920 and the range is unbelievable. Lots of children. Only a few street, town and real photo.
We also have a collection of carousel horse items, lots and lots of angels, Teapots, & Creamers. We have found Byers Choice Carolers and many vintage and collectible children's books. Also have unpacked a small Rookwood Vase. Small collection of cookbooks and many general books. Sheet music and collection of Etude Magazines from the early 1900's. Spinet piano.
Original and decorator art fills the walls and includes some oils, watercolors, upscale prints, and interesting one-of-a-kind framed pieces.
