This is the home of a very interesting 86-year-old man. He worked for many years at Woolworth's in the Loop as the elevator operator and has always been an avid reader. He spends 5-6 hours a day reading. The walls of every room of his home are covered in bookshelves and original art. The books are categorized and knick-knacks have been artfully placed with the books that fit the theme in each section.
The homeowner has decided to downsize and let everything in the lower level, landings on each floor, attic and garage go. Every inch of wall space is dedicated to neat rows of books. Many of the books are antique and vintage hardcovers but there are also lots of vintage paperbacks and some more contemporary hardcovers. There will also be lots of antiques for sale, such as collections of George Washington, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Winston Churchill-themed items. Original art will also be included as well as quite a few pieces of 1960s-era furniture. Also, the homeowner's daughter loved unicorns and there are quite a few unicorn-themed home decor items.
