At 6,500 square feet in size, Oriental Arts Center on 95th Street in the Beverly neighborhood is the largest Chinese furniture and home décor store in the city of Chicago. Oriental Arts Center has been in business since 1989 and in its history has had stores in Chicago North Pier Mall, Skokie Old Orchard Mall, North Riverside Mall, Chicago Evergreen Plaza Mall and Chinatown as well. After 18 years on 95th Street, the owners have decided to close this location and concentrate on their other stores in North Riverside Mall and Navy Pier.
The store closing sale will be held in phases - the first phase will be all the items currently on display in the store and as room is made, items which have never been taken out of their original packaging will be put out for sale. All items in the store will be drastically discounted. The staff will be available to help with viewing and purchase of items during the hours noted above.
The 95th Street store is filled with gorgeous Chinese furniture, artwork and home décor items. There are items in every price range, something for everyone! A lot of the items are vintage to antique, 20-100 years old. It's a bit of a dig in spots but treasures abound including dining sets, china cabinets, display cabinets, TV cabinets, dressers, desks, decorative chairs, jewelry armoires, accent tables, nesting table sets and more.
Home décor items include a vast collection of vintage Japanese-style pottery made in China, majolica pottery planters, carved wood and jade figurines, lamps, framed art, wall hangings, knives, fans and so much more.
The store's fixtures are also for sale including lighted brass displays with glass shelves and carpeted bases, the wood cash wrap with glass window displays and a windchimes display.
Some of the items highlighted in individual photos include a teak carved chair, rosewood dining tables and chairs, rosewood carved Buddha, jewelry armoire, dresser, console table, Japanese-style pottery floor vase, desk, coffee table, end cabinet and wall mirror, antique lamp, framed art with jade carving inside, Queen of England handcrafted dining set, rosewood chair with mother-of-pearl inlay, silver piano desk, chair and grandfather clock, jewelry case with mother-of-pearl inlay. Too much to list here!
