WHAT a perfect sale to round out our estate sale year ... and yours! Because this house is loaded with gift ideas, plus ways to spiff up your holiday decor and/or furnishings, plus all the tabletop, cookware, bake ware, and other kitchen gadgets you wished you had at Thanksgiving, in plenty of time for your holiday entertaining!
This sprawling ranch in fabulous Sleepy Hollow is clean as a whistle, and loaded with a wonderfully eclectic mix of the passions of these home owners.
HE loved clocks. He loved acquiring them, building them, fixing them, displaying them .... and there's not a room in this house that doesn't have some clocks, plus tons of clock making or repair parts and tools, including grandfather clock movements and pendulums, chime rods, etc.
He also made a lot of custom storage units available in this sale.
SHE loved cooking and baking -- there's enough here that filled both the upstairs and the downstairs kitchen cupboards, along with hundreds of cookbook titles. She also loved to sew, craft, quilt, and make jewelry (as well as collect some very nice pieces).
THEY together filled their home with lovely smalls, great furniture including some awesome midcentury modern accent pieces and lamps and lots of man cave (or babe cave), a Kawai GE-1 grand piano (that the tuner/appraiser said has been played very little), tons of paintings that grandma did -- copies of great masters -- and an entire basement room devoted to books and music. At Christmas time, they decorated and we have some nice holiday decor, including some great vintage.
Showcases will be stuffed -- lots of small collectibles, bakelite napkin rings, vintage Christmas, old cameras (Nikon, Praktica), and a LOT of bling! Sparkling costume jewelry, there are some gold pieces (rings, brooches, a few chains) .... all all sorts of other fun stuff.
There are descriptions added to most of the photos to call out some of the highlights of the sale, but I'll give you a quick rundown here as well (these are ONLY highlights ..... If I listed everything in the sale I'd be here all day!)
