This is a really eclectic sale, from pretty to practical, with some vintage and antique thrown into the mix.
The pictures do a much better job of telling the story than anything I can do, and if you click on them you'll see some comments on a few.
Highlights would be the two swords and some military medals from Germany and Japan, maybe some from each of the World Wars, but definitely some are from World War I.
The dove head sword is definitely a Third Reich piece in outstanding condition (we are not allowed to post pictures of certain aspects of this piece on this site; you can see all pictures of it on our website through the link above), as is the German hunting knife that dates back to the turn of the last century.
On the front tables are some great oddities: an electric meter lamp (who thought of THAT first?!?), bookends that feature door knobs and locks from the historic LaSalle Hotel in Chicago, notorious for a fire that swept through it in the 1940s, and that was torn down several decades ago.
There are also some nice clocks, great vintage bar stuff, a bit of porcelain and glassware, and a little of this and a little of that.
There are a few nice antique furniture pieces that have been stored in this house since someone's grandma passed away, including a really nice clawfoot game table and a fabulous oak platform rocker with coil springs. I don't usually get too worked up about rockers, but this one's beautiful.
On the practical side, there is plenty in the kitchen, lots of bedding and linens, some still in package, and ladies and men's clothing.
Several pieces of work-out equipment in the walk-out basement (phew!), and some project pieces of furniture.
... then there are tools. Plenty of them, a range of uses but take a look at the double garage that's pretty much full of them. Woodworking, hand, power ... tools for every reason, every season!
Nice sale, everything's priced to sell and our client wants you to take it all home so they can get this place on the market.
Cash and checks cheerfully accepted; Visa, MasterCard and Discover on purchases of $50 or more.
... and, as always, a Kiss on your way out the door.
