Elfriede Leis's Estate

Born in Germany in 1939, Elfriede lived through World War 2 in the countryside as a very young child and moved to the United States as a teenager, settling in Chicago in the 1950s. She worked for decades as a wig maker with her husband's business, Herman Leis & Son, having been apprenticed in the trade in Germany. Elfriede eventually took over the business in 1999 when her husband passed away, keeping it going until her own passing in early 2016. 

Her estate includes many vintage and antique items -- as well as tons of newer items -- all kept in a household that has been non-smoking for nearly 20 years. 

Highlights of the items available include:

• Very large Art Deco wooden wardrobe with dressing mirror and 2 matching side tables
• Large 30-drawer apothecary drawer cabinet
• Several sets of China, including Rosenthal, Havilland, Limoges and more
• China cabinet
• Large collection of crystal dishes and porcelain figures
• Carrara marble coffee table
• Pride Jazzy TSS300 Mobility Scooter (test driven around the house but unused otherwise)
