Southeast area of Morton, Illinois,  Watch for the blue/white estate sale signs.

The main estate is the Morton household - a upscale local family estate with extra clean and quality items.  Estate 2 comes from Waterloo, Iowa and features toys, political items, and other smalls including John Deere and more. 

 

FURNITURE:  Broyhill, Bassett, Drexel, and other higher end furniture that has been well maintained and looks like brand-new.  Mid-Century design dressers and side tables.  Vintage mid-century Zenith HI-Fi console stereo unit with turntable and radio.  Soft furniture includes sofas and chairs. Nice table lamps, wall décor, and other home decorating accessories.  Bar stools, display cabinets.  Signed Hickcock brand drop leaf table with leaf and 2 chairs.  Nice antique hanging lamp. Nice  antique oval parlor table.

 

QUALITY GLASS AND MORE:  Cambridge - Rosepoint, Westmoreland, Fenton, crystal stemware.  Cut glass including vases, cruets.  Antique porcelain figurines, decorator, and plates.  Bing & Grondahl. Royal Copenhagen Christmas and Mother's Day plates. 

 

HOUSEHOLD and COLLECTIBLES:   Numerous fine quality quilts, full line of clean kitchen items, large group of antique butter pats, children’s miniature glass items including candle sticks, butter dishes, and other sets.  Bric-a-Brac, picnic baskets.  1950's bassinette.  Antique oak washstand.  Antique spool cabinet with two drawers, Goff.  Longaberger baskets. Clean, lightweight John Deere lawnmower.  LP record albums (about 120) with country, some rock, easy listening.  Lots of holiday items - Christmas and other holidays - a bedroom full!

Griswold 701 skillet and Wagner cast iron skillet 1053B.  Both nice.  Polaroid cameras and film in original box - never opened. 

 

BOOKS:  Large group of juvenile novels including Nancy Drew - some with dust covers.  Includes early large blue (over 20), yellow (over 100) available, Bobbsey Twins - purple covers, Cherry Ames, Tom Swift, Hardy Boys - brown, new blue and old blue.  Happy Hollisters and others.  These came from a recently deceased Iowa collector. Many of the juvenile books have early dust covers.  Most are $2.  Highly collectible books are about $10-$20.  60% off marked price. Also, about 100 Little Golden Books - older ones $1.00 each.  Hard-cover cook books including Taste of Home. Other cookbooks.

 

OTHER PAPER:  Postcards sold by the flat (100s). Political advertising. 

 

TOYS:  Teddy Bears (large group), Barclay, Tonka, and other pressed tin, cast iron cars and trucks.  Some wind-up.  Very large group of toys from the 20s to the 80s.  Pedal tractor parts (seats, wheels, pedals).  Chain drive AMF kid racer.  Die cast cars and more in original blister packs.  Salesman sample or promotional small flexible flyer sled from 1930s. 

 

ADVERTISING AND EPHEMERA:  John Deere advertising items including tractor pics, some motor and oil small advertising pieces.  International Harvester and other farm advertising.  Advertising salt and peppers.  Large group postcards - sold by the flat (many available).

 

POLITICAL:  Some license plate toppers (Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Al Smith).  Campaign posters and other campaign literature - especially Nixon.  Some very nice Puck illustrations from the late 1800s – still with Joy Luke auction tags on them.  George Washington inauguration centennial axe (see pics). Some Kennedy items.

 

WORLD’S FAIR:  Large group of various small commemoratives from Chicago, Seattle, New York, and other World’s Fairs.  Ash trays, metal and plastic souvenir buildings and paper items from 1933 to 1960s.

 

POTTERY – STONEWARE:  Multiple pieces of Peoria pottery – crockery.  Roseville and other art pottery.  Small vases and other collector pieces.

 

APPLIANCES:  Maytag side by side refrigerator, Maytag electric oven, Samsun microwave, Kenmore upright freezer, Kenmore washer and gas dryer.  Other standard kitchen appliances.

 

GARAGE ITEMS:  Lawnmower, shovels, rakes, patio furniture, primitive bench.
