Greetings, All! This sale was supposed to happen March 10-11, but our clients weren’t quite ready for us, so we pushed it back a week, resulting in another double-header for us this weekend! (I could get used to having a week off in between sales!). Our client and her first husband who passed away used to be prolific collectors of early photography. Much of their collection includes late 19th and early 20th Century Photogravures, which again were original photographs that were considered ART, as opposed to merely fact-capturing pictures.
One highly regarded photographer that they collected was a woman named Doris Ulmann, who captured life of the Gullahs on a southern plantation, and her images were gathered in a book entitled, “Roll, Jordan, Roll”. Anyone with an interest in Black Americana should come and look at these gravures – all from the original negatives, valuable, full of history and above all, amazing art.
Not to be outdone, there are some color hand-tinted early photographs from Japan, including an entire scrapbook full of these early photograms. Here’s what else we are selling:
1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible with 92,000+ Miles in Gold in Excellent Condition
2010 Ford Taurus SEL Option with 59,000 Miles in Silver Metallic. Great Looking Car in Minty condition as well.
