* The owner had inventoried and tagged all items in his collection. We have left all tags on and will sell the items at 50% of his tagged priced throughout the sale. No additional discounts or price reductions.
* Cash preferred; credit cards accepted with a 3% surcharge. Checks if known to the sale company.
* A few early appointments are available. Contact the sale company to request a Thursday, April 19, appointment. Phone or text 309-838-7080. Items may be purchased during the early appointments.
* This sale is considerably larger than the first one was. Thus, we have secured a larger location to accommodate items and customers.
* Due to the size of the sale and that items will remain boxed until we unload two days before the sale, we will be unable to answer questions about specific items and cost. More pictures and descriptions may be posted Wednesday evening.
Privately Listed Sale
This is our second tag sale from this prominent Iowa antique dealer/collector.
We have just brought in another trailer load and as we unload it will take pictures and add descriptions to this listing. Our early pictures will only represent a portion of what we will have available. We have very few carryovers from the first sale, so this will be almost entirely fresh merchandise which focusses on smalls, vintage toys, and farm/implement/automotive advertising. Please check back for additions and clarifications. There will be only 1 pedal tractor (we anticipate 6 pedal tractors at the May sale - date and location to be determined).
NOTE: There are no household goods, clothing, garage sale items or similar at this sale. The items being offered are true collectibles and antiques. There will be a small amount of glass and pottery.
Vintage Toys: Matchbox cars (some red line), John Deere mini toy tractor sets, promo cars, German battery operated cabin cruiser in original box (works). Cast iron tractors, cast iron cars, trucks, and military items. Brands include Barclay and Arcade. Tire ashtrays. Tin and other metal tractors, farm implements/wagons (including red and green). John Deere chainsaw. Nylint Tru Value 18 wheeler. Some character lunchboxes. Large amount of Viewmaster items including reels, viewers, and projectors.
Pedal Tractor: John Deere #20, 1965. Original paint. Repair weld on hitch. Otherwise, in very nice condition.
Advertising Pens/Pencils: Large collection of automotive, gas and farm implement pencils, bullet pencils, floaters, and pencil clips. Also advertising tape measures.
Holiday: Early plastic Easter animals, Halloween noisemakers and similar. Cookie cutters by the bag.
Books: Jacketed and early editions of Nancy Drew, Happy Holisters, Hardy Boys, and Bobbsey Twins. Other juvenile books (no Golden Books at this sale). Over 50 price guides (toys, pottery, various small collectibles) in excellent condition.
Paper: Seed corn books, Halloween postcards, other postcards (sold by stack). Matchbook collections including farm implement covers. Some advertising paper.
Larger Toy Trucks: Keystone Water Tower Fire Truck in outstanding original condition, Smith Miller, Turner Dodge Dump, Tonka large truck, other fire engines.
Doll Furniture: Large quantity of Renwall and other doll furniture (to be sold by bag lots). Some cast iron doll furniture. Some early doll furniture rooms. Renwal boxed dining room and bedroom sets in original boxes (very nice and unusual).
Newer Boxed Farm and Other Toys: Many more than what are pictured (most still in the trailer). Includes Hess, Vintage Vehicles, Ertl. Model 7920 Ertl John Deere 1/16 (3 available). Steiger, Ford, Deutz-Allis. Many more boxed toys. Boxed toys tend to be from 80s to more current. We also have a large number of old toys, both tin and cast iron.
Banks: John Deere Credit Union banks (part of a series). Some cast iron and some replica banks (cast iron from the 50s) in beautiful condition. Statue of Liberty coin bank in original box.
Watch Fobs: Caterpillar, implement and similar watch fobs.
Other Smalls: We will be displaying at least 9 large showcases plus numerous butterfly boxes of smalls. Items include puzzle keychains from the 50s, Christmas figural light bulbs, a couple boxes of candy cigarettes, political pin backs and buttons, advertising pin backs from car dealers, bicycle companies, and other companies. Victrola needle tins, early condom tins (still packed). Premium character rings, pens, advertising and mechanical pencils, Mr. Peanut collection including pens and figurines. Poppin-fresh, Pez dispensers. Some knives, lighters, and other similar collectibles.
Some Pottery and Glassware: Swanky swigs, pottery pieces including Roseville, Weller, and Frankoma. Blue and white holiday plates (very large collection) including Bing and Grondahl, Royal Copenhagen and others.
