Our South Elgin sale is colorful, fun, beachy AND antique-y, and also happens to be loaded with a bunch of boy toys!

It's simply such a great combination of things so that this is truly a “something for everyone” sale.

There is a very impressive collection of amethyst Krome-Kraft from Farber Brothers, including stemware, decanters, compotes with the nude pedestals, and more.

We also have a vintage nesting Pyrex mixing bowl set, in the primary colors, and a few other collectibles.

We have a nice assortment of home electronics, including a portable DVD player, a ps2, several PlayStation games, a Wii console and balance board, a couple of dance mats, Wii games and two guitars accessories. There are a couple of cameras, a Bose Wave Radio, some T-Mobile cell phones (I can't say I understand how you use them if you don't get them through T-mobile, but I have a hunch others do).

We do have a few pieces of fine jewelry -- rings with stones in gold settings, a few necklaces with gold pendants and chains, and a lovely gold necklace with diamond pendant. There are some sterling rings and a chain, and some newer costume jewelry that will be bagged into assortments.

There are also a few flat screen televisions in various sizes, DVD and video players, a 100 CD-changer, a Tehnics turntable, etc. There's a nice assortment of CDs, (they loved rock and roll, heavy on the 80s and 90s), and some DVDs as well.

Precious Moments, anyone?  We have several dozen -- individual pieces, sets, and more. The boxes for most are available -- we'll let you find the boxes to match your selections.

We have a signed Gale Sayers football jersey, guaranteed authentic, he went to a Gale Sayers signing personally and had it autographed, and we have the ticket that he used to have access to Mr Sayers for the signing.

We also have an incredible assortment of antique oak furniture, including a round pedestal dining room table with two leaves, pressed back chairs, a mirror back buffet, a couple of half-round curio cabinets, a Hoosier (which is really more of a display piece than a true Hoosier anymore: they purchased it very distressed did some work to it, so it makes a nice display piece, but is missing some of the things that most Hoosiers have. You'll see it in the pictures.)

We also have a nice oak hall tree with seat and storage area, a side-by-side curio secretary, and several antique oak dressers in the upstairs bedrooms.

The kitchen is loaded, and if you like small appliances, you'll be very happy with what you find here, and things are clean. Fondue pot, crock pot, toaster, toaster oven, bread maker, blender, for those of you who really enjoy the finer things in the kitchen, there is a Vitamix, some Health Craft cookware, and the Health Craft slicer/shredder food processor.

There is plenty of serving ware and tabletop, and some things in the kitchen are very whimsical and fun, many with a tropical or beach theme, and it's just one of those places where you can pick up a nice assortment of color to add to your home!

They loved wine, their decor is testimony to that: there are several pictures or wall hangings that have a wine theme, and there's a really cute wine rack that is in the design of an old-fashioned three wheel bike.

Beyond the antique dressers I've mentioned, bedroom furniture includes a beautiful queen metal open-canopy bed … like a four-poster but also has the ornate metal work around the top of it. There is a nice set of newer but lovely oak night stands with metal bases, another set of vintage oak chairs, and a jewelry vanity table.

For your office there is a newer but very nice roll top desk, lots of office supplies, lots of office electronics, things like laptop computer storage bags and more.

There is also a very nice headboard and footboard for a full bed that's metal and wood. You'll find plenty of linens, towels, bedding, throw pillows, blankets, comforters, and more. Just a little bit of clothing, but it's kind of fun: two leather motorcycle jackets (one his, from Hard Rock Cafe, one hers – nicely fringed). Since their next destination is Florida, we do have winter coats and sweaters, mostly men's clothing but some women's as well. On that note, there are two wedding gowns, one is from the early 90s but beautifully made with lace inlays, the other one is my favorite, it was for a beach vow renewal, and it just is perfect for either a summer or an outdoor or a beach wedding. Flowy with little bits of crystal accents, a beautiful dress. Also, at some point there was a fifties party and she went all out. We have a purple a skirt, a blouse and scarf, and a pair of saddle shoes!

The basement is a blast! They loved to have beach parties all year round. And so the basement is like one giant party room, very heavy on the Tiki and beach theme. Lots of signage that relates to these things, several lighting bar signs including some advertising signs, see the pictures, some neon signs, quality sound equipment, a collection of steins, and of course what self-respecting basement bar would be complete if it didn't have all sorts of stemware and glassware and serving pieces!

We also have a vintage pinball machine in working order, it is the Williams “Swinger”, circa 1972. Converted so that no coins are required, we have the keys, we've played it, it seems to be in fine working order. The catch of course with a pinball machine, is it you will need to make arrangements to have it carefully removed from the basement up the stairs. If you're not familiar with how to move a pinball machine, I would suggest that you talk to somebody before you buy. Legs need to be removed, and it is heavy. We do not provide this type of moving service.

There is also a bedroom in the basement that is filled with very pretty and whimsical Christmas decor, some Halloween decor, and there are outdoor holiday decorations that we put on the back porch, since they can survive the elements. There is another full bed with a white metal headboard and footboard.

And then we get into the tools. A very handy person, he acquired an impressive assortment of tools both professional grade and for the home tool box. So we have everything from air tools to electric tools, to hand tools, to power tools, and more.

Brands include Porter Cable, Ryobi, Delta, Bosch, MasterForce, Sawzall, and more. There is a Husky Medallion Series mechanics tool chest, several fiberglass ladders, a circular saw, framing and brad nailers, a grinding bench, router table, and much more.

We also have a snow blower (needs repair), lawn mower, electric generator, propane heater … the list could go on and on, but just come and see! And take advantage of a great assortment and great prices.

There is outdoor patio furniture, a couple cement benches, an outdoor fountain, gas grill, and fire pit. There is an outdoor tiki bar (the matching stools are in the basement pictures), but it needs repair -- it succumbed to a recent wind storm.

Oh – and a car! 2008 Pontiac Solstice GXP coupe, brilliant yellow, offered for $15000. Clear title, 46,396 miles, garage kept. We do take only cash or cashier's check for car purchases.

For other purchases, we cheerfully accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. No personal checks.

and, as always, a Kiss on your way out the door.
