"Go West Young Man" is attributed to Horace Greeley, but I don't think he had the West Bottoms in mind for a large tool sale. This sale features not one, but two cabinetmaker's shops in one of the many warehouses in this historic neighborhood. Plug a reminder on your cell phone for the sale this Saturday, Sept. 26th, from 9 AM to 2 PM. Once that's done, add, Friday evening, Sept. 25th after 7 PM for the exact address release. Obviously, this is not your crammed garage workshop as this warehouse is packed to the rafters with woodworking equipment , There are not only tons of machinery and tools, but everything else you can imagine to run two separate businesses. In addition to free-standing machinery and tubs of tools, there is plenty of 14' long hardwood lumber, (it can be cut to fit in your Vega) and plywood in 4' x 8' sheets. And yes, there is sandpaper and enough boxes of hardware to make Strasser jealous. With potential rain in the forecast, you need not worry as this building is totally waterproof once you get in the front door.

Butcher's Prime Cut - With too many machines to choose from, I'm going small...well not too small as the Stanley #33 transitional is the second largest plane Stanley ever made. Only the #34 is a tad longer. eBay has a #33 priced at $175, and while this one needs a good dusting, it's all original and a bargain at Butcher's Price: $85
