SHAWNEE MISSION LA SERTOMA ESTATE SALE--HALF PRICE ON ALL REMAINING ITEMS, UNTIL 3 P.M. TODAY (FRIDAY) ONLY!!!!! AND THERE WAS A LOT LEFT WHEN I WAS THERE YESTERDAY! Very nice, clean sale with mixed antiques and nice useful practically-new stuff. House is a lot bigger than it looks inside! These nice people have some interesting stuff, including ham radio equipment, a Victrola that works, lots of antiques, and crocks everywhere!. Take a gander at what we have:
LIVING ROOM as you enter: Small spinet piano; pink depressionware glass; a couple pieces of goofus glass; small round oak table with leaves; glass-front china cabinet in oak; very nice newer TV armoire; oak chair; nice silverplate set; Hummel ashtray, large copper boiler;
KITCHEN/DINING NOOK (to your left as you enter): Nice sturdy table and even sturdier chairs, heavyweight enough for Uncle You-Know-Who; nice old mantle clock and antique oak clock; dishes, glassware, kitchen items; small electric appliances, some vintage; pots and pans; misc. kitchen items, some vintage; vintage cookbooks, and outside, some lawn tables and chairs;
MASTER BEDROOM (far right as you enter): King-sized bed; linens; side table; nice antique globe lamp; pictures;
MAIN-LEVEL BEDROOM (hang a quick right as you enter) Bed and linens; very cool heavy what I would call campaign style-desk, must see and I wish I'd seen it before I bought the one I did; lamps, pictures, men's clothing;
GARAGE: Misc. garage stuff, yard tools, etc., ladder, small upright freezer.
LOWER LEVEL: Look, I'm calling this a Victrola, but I don't have the picture in front of me and I don't think that's the right brand--it's a wind-up old record player, and if you don't know what a record is, don't bother looking at it. Sofa and chair in very good condition; bar stools and barware; great blond wood table, the legs fold out and it's vintage 1950s with great style;
It'll be sunny (we hope)! Temp 3134.
DOWNSTAIRS BEDROOM: Sewing items, lots of Christmas stuff; some neat lawyer bookcases painted a lovely shade of mint green and they look great; some lawn furniture outside on the deck.
BASEMENT: Through the bar area, behind the door. There's lots of interesting stuff in here--puzzles, there's a closet with an awful lot of clothing, some vintage, hats, vintage children's toys, some great ones that I haven't seen before. There's a whole wall full of antique things like potato mashers, egg beaters, there's an old telephone, bits and pieces of old things. Looks like there are maybe two ham radio sets? And old electronic equipment, misc. interesting stuff. Be sure to look through our pictures, I'm going to so that I can remind myself what's at this sale because there's too much to remember offhand!
REMEMBER that Shawnee Mission La Sertoma is an ALL VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION which means WE DON'T GET PAID and so we make a lot of money and ALL OF IT goes to nurse scholarships at Johnson County Community College because Heaven knows we need more nurses! Come see us!
