Enter a bibliophile's paradise!

This estate sale offers more than 2000 books from a private collection of the late Dale B. Stinson, Jr., a prominent figure in the legal and civic communities of Wichita, Kansas, and avid book collector. A member of the Wichita Bibliophiles for more than four decades, Dale's eclectic collection includes books of literature, history, politics, biographies, the law of religion, and book culture. His enthusiasm for the history of Kansas and the Great Plains is showcased in first editions of works by J. Frank Dobie, Paul l. Wellman, Wilma Cather, and William Allen White. More than 400 books explore book collecting, typography, printing, and publishing, and the anatomy of the printed world. The history collection covers America's wars and its people, from the Revolutionary War through the late 20th Century. His selection of legal books includes bound legal treatises, accounts of famous trials, histories of British and American law, works of courts and jurisprudence, and biographies of jurists and attorneys. This remarkable collection contains beautiful leather-bound books, fine press editions, antique and vintage books, and rare first editions--from "The Red Pony" by William Faulkner to "The Caine Mutiny" by Herman Wouk--that will enrich any collection or decor.

If there is a book you see that would like to purchase, we can ship it to you for the price of shipping.

The beautiful Baldwin piano was made in the USA in the late 1920's with American craftsmanship.  It is a high-quality piano that is well-built, at the top end of pianos today, and in fine condition.

The family bought the piano from Jenkins Music Company in the late 1950's. The original owner was a master pianist whose children learned about music by playing on it. The family regularly gathered around the piano to sing as their mother played. At Christmastime, they would entertain with carols and pop tunes.

The musical influence led one son to become a professional musician, performing around the world. During his younger years he performed at The Wichita Jazz Festival as lead trumpet for the Southeast High School Big Band Jazz Band and The Wichita Youth Symphony.  Another son became a drummer in The Drum and Bugle Corps. The daughter was a violinist and member of the award-winning East High School Orchestra and Wichita Youth Symphony.

Musician friends invited to the home loved to play the piano for its soft touch. The owner lovingly cared for the piano all her life.

The appraisal suggested a list price of $6549.00. The price of this piano includes professional moving and follow-up tuning. It will be tuned one day before this sale begins. This piano can be moved almost anywhere in the United States for a small extra fee.

Anyone can purchase this piano for the listed price or may leave a bid.
