Boy was this house a breath of fresh air. Though the air was the only thing fresh about it, everything else looks like it's been there since the summer of 1963, when everybody called me "Baby" and it didn't occur to me to mind.

That was before President Kennedy was shot, before the Beatles came, when I couldn't wait to join the Peace Corps, and I thought I'd never find a guy as great as my Dad.... wait - that's the opening line to Dirty Dancing. But still.

There are some amazing Mid Century pieces in this house you don't want to miss; an awesome Kipp Stewert Drexel coffee table - a French Provencial bedroom that will have you imagining Doris Day draped across the bed on a party line, a wardrobe full of some retro 80's clothes that will make you feel like you should expect John Cusack outside your window or Jake Ryan lounging against a car across the street.

There's also some great contemporary pieces too, plus a lot fixtures from a remodel - sinks, light fixtures, even a cooktop! Stay turned for more pictures as we finish getting set up.

I am obssesed with this bed. Trust me it wouldn't even still be here if it wasn't a full size. Also that suitcase is so awesome, you can't see the awesomeness from this angle cause I wanted it to be a surprise.

I could write soliloquies on this coffee table. It's a Kipp Stewart Drexel coffee table and those perfectly minimalist inlaid dots are Brazilian rosewood and I honestly just want to sit and pet it - it's so pretty

Too big to be a night stand, not big enough to be a stand alone dresser. Poor little Goldilocks just needs to find the right space where she's just the right size.

The rug and the coffee table are slightly off center and it's driving me crazy, but also you could bring this whole set up home and just like copy and paste it into your house.

These nightgowns are so ridiculously gorgeous and flowy and I'm also obsessed with these. If they fit me I'd wear them everywhere, even the grocery store. Not really. they're kind of sheer but still.

More soft flowy night gowns, don't they just feel like the most comfortable things in the world?

And oh yeah - most of them are vintage Christian Dior

I know absolutely nothing about Pipes, but I think they're pretty and that's all that really matters right?

Also this pipe holder is super awesome. You could totally use it for not pipes too if you're not a pipe person but pipe people will totally love it. And not pipe people too. I feel like I just invented a new tongue twister

More pipes, and another pipe holder, this one also has a jar for I'm assuming pipe accessories. Do pipes have accessories? I assumed it was for tobacco but I was informed that was not the case so you know for all your pipe accessory needs.

This pipe looks like it should be wearing lederhosen. It was made in the French Alps so that makes sense.

I've never seen a pipe like this one, you can like change out the bowl and make it different styles and stuff.

I just liked the shape of this one, it feels very Sherlock Holmes. This shape is called a Hungarian or and Oom Paul - and you can guess which name I like better and will be calling this pipe from here on out.

These are really cool, I love how they match but they don’t at the same time.

There’s a pair of these as well, they really liked their pairs.

Here’s a better picture of these, all the little images are raised. I know I’m gonna get my antique lover card revoked but I would totally by this pair and turn them into lamps.

Not sure how this chair make s a pink-ish cheetah print look chic, but it does. Sort of like Hemingway meets Carole Baskin.

Very comfortable couch, great for napping, or so I assume. The prints above are Audubon’s with great coloring.

Just wanted to point out that the blue spots on the vases are not a part of the design, they are simply the blue tape we use to keep track of where things go - though if like them better with the blue spots feel free to keep the tape free of charge.

The amount of lamps in this house is insane, especially when you consider how dark it is in the house, in fact there are a few lamps we might request you leave for us until Sunday afternoon just so we can see.

I love this table. Round but not too round if you know what I mean?

This Drexel shelf is very versatile. It’s got shelves, and a little drawer, and the top flips up and turns into a podium. You know for like…emergency speeches.

This is one of the Audubons - Florida Jays. You think Florida Jays are like the Florida man of birds? All the other birds make fun of it cause it’s always doing stupid crap. I can see the headlines “Florida Jay repeatedly flies into open sliding glass door”

These guys are totally making fun of the Florida Jay.

One of the most complete sets of Blue Cornflower I’ve ever seen. ALso a random popcorn bowl.

I have no idea what the intended purpose of this little cabinet was. It’s too short for a Buffett, to wide for a side table. The 60’s were wild.

This is like the Daddy buffet that goes with the baby buffet - oh! What if that was like the kids buffet and this is the grown ups buffet - like how there’s always a kids table and grown ups table at Thanksgiving.

If you’re a fan of the Avocado green - you should see the dishwasher. I wish I could sell it but the new owners actually want clean dishes - how rude.

This frog set is my new favorite thing y’all they’re so stinking cute. Also I asked why the frog clock from the previous picture is not with the other frog stuff and I was told to mind my own business and stick to writing funny captions. Also cause it fit better in the cabinet.

Did crock pots all used to come with baby crockpots? What can you even do with a tiny crock pot? Again is this the kids crock pot? Like the crockpot version of the Easy Bake Oven? Instead of making a half raw cake in twenty minutes it makes a half raw piece of chicken in 12 hours?

The Pyrex double boiler has a chip in it but even with the chip it was too cool to toss in the trash.

Apparently the big Magnalite in the back is a Chicken Fryer. I’m unclear on if it’s purpose is to fry a whole chicken or to make fried chicken - which doesn’t sound like a big difference but trust me it is.

I’m sure you weren’t expecting a explosion of hot pink out of this house - neither were we, but I gotta say, I don’t hate it.

Black, white and pink are timeless classics after all.

I usually never manage to take a picture with a mirror in it and not catch myself in the mirror but thanks to the strategically placed message board I was fully hidden here. I did even try.

Remember when I said that despite the 200 lamps in this house the lighting is atrocious? This is a great example of that, you cannot see the gorgeous teal and green strip fabric on this chair but it’s in perfect condition.

How do you say a room was decorated in the 60’s without saying it? You have a side chair covered in the same fabric as the bedspread which is the same fabric as the curtains which is the same pattern as the wallpaper. Since they all match, if you want to buy 1 do you have to buy them all?

This is a very vague picture of jackets but what you can’t tell in this picture is that they’re all super retro 80’s blazers and there’s tons more totally 80’s and 90’s clothes here to go with them.

Does anyone wear robes anymore? Like to just lounge around the house? Or when you get up in the middle of the night for a midnight snack? If you’re one of those people have we got some robes for you - a few are vintage Christian Dior.

This table is actually attached to the wall!!!!!! Crazy I know but guess what, we have the tools to take it off the wall and will gladly do so for you if you want to purchase it. Unfortunately due to union regulations we will not be able to follow you home and install for you.

Shoes! I want to say they’re all like a size 5, I know she had tiny feet, but they’re all super cute.

This chair is Drexel and upholstered in a great teal color. Also great retro touch is the karate chopped pillow.

I’m so annoyed we don’t have the coffee and tea to go with these two but how stinking cute are the flour and sugar

Very serious business desk for very serious business people.

Great little tv stand for a flat screen and to go with your high tech tv, you totally need a state of the art VCR! Can you even hook up a VCR to a new tv? Are they compatible?

Do you have windows? We have curtains! How lucky are you?

This duck pitcher is by far the cutest thing ever. Unfortunately at one point his beak was broken and glued back on but so what? I’m sure you’ve had to glue a few pieces back on in your time.

I haven’t had a chance to go through all of these but some of the skinny ties are so cool.

Ok so the Polerouter is an interesting watch. It was originally designed to commemorate the Scandinavian Airline Systems polar flights from Los Angeles to Europe. Not just as a pretty timepiece but because the flight over the North Pole was wreaking havoc on watches due to the extreme magnetic fields. None of this is necessarily funny but I thought it was interesting

This is a plain old Swiss army watch. Unfortunately unlike it’s pokey pocket counterpart, all it does is tell the time. No corkscrew, no can opener, no tooth pick or tweezers. Just a clock.

Vintage Playboy club ashtray - two things that are basically obsolete but suddenly collectible.

We finally got good lighting in this room and to my surprise that Henredon sofa is not brown but actually a blue-green. Also another picture of the awesome table in case you forgot how awesome it was.

I’m obsessed with these jars. Not only is the hand painting gorgeous and delicate - the faces on these dragons - the FACES y’all. I find myself just staring at them for long periods of time when I should be working.

Four poster, claw foot King size bed - with those little metal metal swingy things that cover the bolts - Cause apparently it was super important to not have to see those sill little bolt things that kept the bed from collapsing underneath you while you slept like a flan in a cupboard.

The side chair blends into the wallpaper. Like vintage camo

This moose lamp is outstanding. That is all.

This chair is not as outstanding as the moose lamp, but just as functional.

I don’t know why the manicure flip flops are tucked into the lap desk but ok.

So this isn’t just any Chanel No5 - this is vintage stock, never opened Chanel No5, imported from Paris with it’s original box too.

We don’t have any jewelry but we did find a few watches. And pockets knives. None of the pocket knives are Swiss army - but one of the watches is. The world turned upside down.

These old avon perfume jars are so adorable. I like to pretend the two snails are in a very slow race and have been moving them just slightly forward every day to see if anyone’s noticed. No one has.

Marilyn might have preferred wearing Chanel and only Chanel to bed but honestly Avon had the right idea - who cares what the perfume smells like if the bottles are adorable. My fav? The fountain spitting water and a plastic fish. Which one is yours?

Avon didn’t keep their funky bottle designs for women only - men got into the act too. Who can resist a cologne when it comes in a jar shaped like a baseball glove?

This blue leather wingback chair looks very comfortable…but it reminds me of the talking chair from Pee Weeks Playhouse (google it - it looks nothing like the talking chair and yet I can’t unsee it) subsequently, I can’t bring myself to sit in it to find out if it is comfortable for sure.

I don’t know why they had the same architectural piece in like three very different colors - I suppose they couldn’t decide which one they liked best so just kept them all.

Every night can feel like you’re eating at Red Lobster with these babies. And cheddar bay biscuits. Which I can’t help you with so you’re on your own there.

There was quite a lot of caramel flavored coffee syrup - what one person needs that much caramel flavored syrup? Mind you there are plenty coffee pots to warrant that much syrup but still.

Fresh-o-later - for all that coffee to use all that caramel syrup with.

These are both strange and unusual but like Lydia Deetz would say, I myself and strange and unusual so we’ve both got that going for us

Silverware is silverware as far as I’m normally concerned but these vintage Oneida are so adorable I had to spotlight them.

I’ve never seen a set of Hall mixing bowls before, this pattern is called Blue Bouquet. They’re almost too fancy to actually use as mixing bowls. I’d probably use less fancy bowls to do the actual mixing then put the finished stuff in these - like the housewife who gets catering for a dinner party but takes it out of the caterers containers and puts it in her own dishes.

Tis the season for pumpkin pies…I expect there to be people lined up for this baby on Friday at 6 am

Not sure why you need Don Quixote to conquer your salad bowl but he’ll do with panache!

My favorite thing about this table is that the chairs on wheels. Personally I think all chairs should be on wheels - maybe not all chairs, not like club chairs or overstuffed chairs but like most chairs, it would just make life easier.

Found this baby hidden behind a dresser in a closet. Not sure what they were thinking, I can see a flash of teal at fifty paces.

This is a Sterling Silver Service for 8. The pattern is called Spanish Provincial by Towle - It’s not a huge set but you do have 6 serving pieces - including a chocolate spoon. The fact that there used to be a dedicated spoon just for chocolate as a standard in old silver sets means we used to do some things right I suppose

This is a really simple design but it’s still really pretty. Spanish Provincial - which I didn’t even know was a thing, I mean everyone’s heard of French Provincial.

You can’t grasp the actual amount of Groovy in this skirt from the picture.

I spent more time than my boss would have probably liked sorting these out by color order so please try to keep them that way - it makes it so much easier to go through I promise. FYI most of those blouses are vintage silk.

We might have a ridiculous amount of lamps in this house but we also have an even more ridiculous amount of lamp shades. So that’s something.

It’s getting to that time, when the air gets crisp and the temperature is just perfect enough for about 30 minutes of sweater wearing. That cream and peachy stripe one was hand loomed in Ireland - where the sheep come from so you know it’s the real deal.

There are some pretty awesome vintage skirts in this sale too - she loved her plaid y’all.

I love this piece. It’s called Band Stand by Curtis Jere - a great Mid Century artist. And it’s signed.

This screen is one of the most stunning things I’ve ever seen in my life. It is hand carved, hand painted - heavy as shit but actually positively stunning in person.

Not many dresses but the ones she had are all vintage gems. The white with red butterflies is quite possibly my favorite. But then there’s the Red Cashmere one, oh and the navy blue linen with just a really great shape. Ugh, if only I didn’t live a life where leggings and tshirts are most suited to my daily life.

Ok, I lied, this one is my favorite. It was stored away with crumpled up newspaper in the sleeves - I’m not sure if it was to prevent wrinkles or just to look funny - either way it worked.

Have you ever wanted to wear the softest outfit possible? Have I got a treat for you, here we’ve got a choice of two 100% cashmere sweaters and an incredibly velvety soft lambs suede skirt (yes lamb suede which is the softest kind of suede you can get), seriously this outfit would be so luxurious random people will be touching you all day - wait maybe that’s not such a good idea after all.

Hiding behind that absolutely massive cypress barstool is a timid concrete basket of fruit. Why you would want a concrete basket of fruit in a garden is beyond me - it sort of feel like a threat - like do you put it in front of an apple tree as if to say “Yeah keep on growing and see what happens to you!”
