Estate of Dr. Ruth Rogan Benerito, Chemist, Researcher, Inventor & Educator who revolutionized the textile industry, notably her contributions to the development of wash-and-wear/wrinkle free cotton fabrics, Laboratory Equipment & Medicine. She held 55 patents. Born in New Orleans January 12, 1916 - Died October 5, 2013 at the age of 97. Graduate of Newcomb, Tulane, & University of Chicago. Dr. Ruth Benerito led a team of researchers while working for the U.S. Department of Agriculture laboratories in New Orleans. Among numerous National awards, Dr. Ruth Benerito most recently was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2008.
