This is the absolutely gorgeous estate sale of Brigadier General Wiltz and his wife Joy Segura
The Seguras returned to New Iberia and made their home after General Segura's long military career which began in WW 2 where he was an Army Air Corps pilot in the famed 23rd Fighter Group of the 14th Air Force which had been organized out of Chennault's Flying Tigers. In 1952 he was sent to South America as an advisor to the Venezuelan Air Force and in 1961 he was an aide-de-camp and interpreter to Latin American military leaders. After becoming vice commander of the 3rd Tactical Wing command in 1965, he was transferred to the Bien Hoa Air Base in Viet Nam where he flew 125 combat missions. He completed his career as the US Deputy Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe in Belgium 1971.
He achieved the rank of brigadier general in December 1971 and retired in 1972. During his long and illustrious career, he earned the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, the Viet Nam Honor Medal, Purple Heart, and the Venezuelan Distinguished Flying Cross.
Mrs. Joy, a native of New Iberia since 3, was crowned Queen Sugar III and married Capt. Wiltz Segura in 1945. They went on to travel the world together and now we have the opportunity to purchase their many treasures.
