Description & Details
This is the estate sale of John Betar, a New Iberia native. Upon his graduation from law school, Mr. Betar served as a captain in the Judge Advocate General Corps, serving as a White House military social aide to Presidents John F Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson. After the completion of his service, he held various positions for the federal government on Captiol Hill.. He served as a trial attorney to the US Department of Justice and was a legislative assistant to US LA Representative Edwin Willis.. From the 1970s through mid 80s, he served in the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation's (FDIC) legal division. After his tenure with FDIC, he became legislative counsel to the National Bank Holding Companies.
Upon his retirement from the federal government, Mr. Betar moved from Washington DC to his home town of New Iberia and lived here until his death in 2021. Johnny (as his many friends called him) was a man of great style and a collector of beautiful things including art and historical memorabilia.
You will have a chance to purchase from a beautiful estate that is curated from all over the United States.
