Due to the amount of items we have for sale we will be doing a night viewing on Wednesday October 23, from 6 pm till 8 pm, We will be charging a nominal fee of $5.00 per person for entry. The entry fee will go to charity. Yes, you will be able to purchase items,  for serious buyers.  This sale will take two weekends and we plan on putting out new stuff as time  allows. Address  will be posted Wednesday at 9 am. 

The Irelands bought this lovely historical home around 1952. The home’s last major renovation was around 1925, and its new design has been attributed to Woodward Wright, as one of his earliest projects.  In this renovation the house was transformed from a raised cottage to a three story Colonial, as per its blog on house History.

The house would make a great setting for an Anne Rice movie.

Lots of movie set material as well --apothecary, pharmacy, medical, dental, animal science. Plus vintage building materials, household, rugs, vintage clothing and wares, furniture... We got that!                          

Dr. Ireland was a professor and head of the department of Pharmacy at Loyola University. He was also one of the founders of the Pharmacy Museum on Charter St., in the New Orleans' French Quarter.  He amassed a huge hoard of pharmacy items, antique medical books, lab glass, bottles, and what not. He lived thru the depression, and refused to let anything go to waste. 

Mrs. Ireland was a Pharmacist and also a teacher at Ursuline Academy until retiring in 2000.  We have her to thank for seven decades worth of vintage clothing, linens, housewares, jewelry, pharmacy items, incubators for hatching chicks to educate young minds, and more.

Not much here newer than 1990s.

We will be selling a huge collection of rare medical books going back as far as 1640. Many filled with lithographs. Many in Latin, French, German, Chinese, English, as well as other languages.

Mr. Ireland also created perfumes. We have his oils, and perfume supplies, to sell as well. Lab equipment from the really small items, to large showy pieces. Pharmacy supplies abound, mortars and pestles, spatulas, labels, bottles, funnels, counters, samples—we got that.

Much of the house has been closed up for for many, many, years. Mrs. Ireland never cared for air conditioning, and only allowed a few window units, so please wear comfortable clothing. You may also want gloves as well. We have cleaned as best we could, no running water either. A flashlight may be helpful as well.

Boxes or shopping bags will be allowed—you may want several. We do have some packing supplies, but its always wise to be prepared.
