Numbers will be handed out at 8AM Sunday.
I just spoke with my client and she said to half price everything, including the sterling silver, the clothes, the paintings and watches.
Southern Estates Liquidations is proud to have been selected to conduct the estate sale of a renowned New Orleans physician that passed after a brief struggle with a fatal illness. Dying suddenly about 6 weeks ago, the good doctor had no time to plan for the future of his many acquisitions and collections. Southern Estates Liquidations has been hired, by his only relatives, a niece and a nephew, to dispose of these items.
For example, in the year 2000, the good doctor decided to start building a collection of contemporary wrist watches and by the time of his death, he had amassed an impressive collection of approximately 400. Most of these watches were purchased from the former Shop NBC channel and we have the receipts available for viewing. Unfortunately, the good doctor enjoyed viewing some of his watches in display cases, therefore approximately 25% of these watches have no boxes.
In view of that, the Estate and Southern Estates Liquidations cannot guarantee the authenticity of any watch. After a meeting with my clients, we have decided to sell most of these watches at $25.00 each un-boxed and $35.00 each boxed. Some will also be individually priced.
A few of the brands available are Seiko, Parnis, Nicolet, Invicta, Stuhrling, Renato, Geneve, Accutron, Lucien Piccard, Croton, etc.
In addition, we have approximately 300 other quality boxed watches such as Casio, Timex, Jaragar, (correct spelling), Winner, Sewor, Shark, Army military, etc. that will be priced at $10.00 to $15.00 each. Many of these consistently sell on Ebay for $40.00 to over a hundred dollars.
It'll be sunny (we hope)! Temp 352.
PLEASE NOTE: Watches will be discounted on Sunday; however they will not be half price.
PLEASE NOTE. The good doctor was also a patron of the famous New Orleans Artist Natalie Gaidry. For those of you not familiar with this brilliant artist go to https://www.barnettfineart.com/artists/natalie-gaidry/
In the early 1990's, the good doctor attended many of Natalie's early exhibitions and amassed an impressive collection of 8 of her vibrant paintings. These painting will be offered, at the sale, at a fraction of their cost and value. Lately, Natalie is being hailed at the "Van Gogh" of the 21st century. Her paintings now hang in the New Orleans Museum of Art. Also, she has had and continues to have many individual exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. The good doctor also collected New Orleans art and these paintings, watercolors, etchings and photographs will also be for sale.
Another of the good doctor's many passions was Waterford Crystal and his collection of more than 100 pieces will also be offered. For the past several years, the good doctor, collected and smoked pipes and cigars and those collections will also be offered.
The good doctor was also a dapper dresser and he amassed a huge wardrobe any man would be proud to own. Due to his sudden passing, over 100 shirts remain in their original packing. Additionally, he had over a hundred pairs of slacks; 8 overcoats, including one of 100% imported cashmere. He had over 50 suits and sport coats; many he did not have the opportunity to even have tailored; their tags remain on the sleeves. The good doctor also had many pairs of expensive shoes, such as Brooks Brothers, Cole Hann, Clarks, Crockett & Jones Golf Shoes, that he did not have the opportunity wear; they are brand new in their original boxes. I also estimate the good doctor had over 300 neck ties; they will also be offered. The good doctor shopped at many upscale stores, such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Gucci and some of the items being offered bear their labels.
An entire room of small appliances will also be offered, most unused and in their original boxes.
Due to time constraints, I will not have the opportunity to list most of the items in this Lakeview two story home. Please use the images I am providing to judge if this estate sale is worthy of your attendance.
PLEASE NOTE: this two story home has thousands of small items; therefore please leave your purses in your car. No purses will be allowed. Guys, no cargo pants, no cargo shorts and no shirts untucked. We do apologize for these inconveniences however the actions of a few necessitate these actions.
PLEASE NOTE: No children will be allowed at this sale.
