Description & Details
THE ESTATE OF MARGARET SHEHEE COLE
Presented by Estate Pros
November 13–14 | 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
Remembered for her generosity and dedication to the Northwest Louisiana community, Margaret Shehee Cole was a supporter of the arts, including the Red River Revel, and an enthusiastic traveler with a particular affection for Paris. Her Lake Place home reflects those interests in its French influences, distinctive furnishings, and collections of art and decorative objects.
Preparing this estate has been a remarkable journey of discovery, revealing connections to Louisiana’s artistic and cultural history. Among the most significant was George Rodrigue’s original 1981 Festivals Acadiens painting, the source of a familiar festival image, which will be sold at Neal Auction’s Louisiana Purchase Auction on November 20.
Estate Pros presents a collection distinguished by continental character and an appreciation for gracious living. French and Italian furnishings, warm woods, gilt accents, original art, fine Herend porcelain, and exceptional crystal come together in rooms thoughtfully assembled for both everyday enjoyment and entertaining.
Selected highlights from the estate follow.
