Dr. Clay Pierce aka "Dr. Dog" was a well-known, well-loved veterinarian in the St. Charles Community for 30+ years. He was born and raised in Cut Off. Clay was a 1968 high school graduate of South Lafourche. He received his undergraduate degree at Nicholls State University and continued his studies at Texas A&M where he received his Veterinarian Degree in 1974. After graduating he returned to Thibodaux and opened his own veterinary office, Lafourche Animal Hospital in 1975.
