Yankee estate Sales

Genealogy is a funny thing.  We use the method to discover ancestors in our families with industrious natures, some with leanings to governing (and local politics!), others with adventurous spirits and then there are always those few black sheep.  But it is rare that an American family can trace their roots to back to 1630 when the ancestors first set foot on the shores of Cape Cod and whose names of Sparrow, Hatch, Dill, Mayo, Doane and more are intertwined into the history of Eastham, Massachusetts.  Some were diligent farmers of asparagus, turnips, wheat and corn.  Others made their livelihood as fishermen.  And still others took a turn at lighthouse keeping and one was a dashing sea captain who brought back acorns from English Oaks whose progeny still grow here!  Though the house featured in this weekend's sale is not an early homestead, it was built on family land that was originally a wheat field and has served the 20thC generations as a "Summer Place" to gather.  Come join us in a peaceful Cape Cod landscape and discover a bit of local history while you're at it!!!
