Five generation Crow Point Hingham Estate Sale. Their Mom was a member of the great generation and boy, did she keep everything. She loved her huge Crow Point home and lived there 59 years, packing it with treasures. She kept not only her own stash but her husband's, parents' and grandparent's things. Three kids and a grandchild came and went, living there at times, and many of their possessions are included in the sale. Her travels took her to Turkey, Haiti, Japan, Mexico, Calgary, and New Mexico to name a few and her eclectic style spans the decades from Victorian through mid-century to now. Her roaring intellect, infinite curiosity and wide ranging zest for life left them with far too much: housewares, glassware, dishes, serving pieces, a bit of Christmas stuff, textiles, rugs, linens, bedding, china, knick knacks of every kind, art, posters and prints. There really is a little bit of everything in this sale. Don't miss it! The house is sold and has to be delivered empty so prices are very fair. You'll find a rare but rusty Freeflow wood stove (the wood stove now made by Bullerjan in Europe and very hard to get here), artwork including a Mayfield Parrish "Daybreak" in a nice period frame, a Carl R. Saxild impressionist painting, Haitian art, loads of books, some ephemera, vintage fabric, vintage and antique doll and baby clothes, baskets, and some furniture. This includes a mid century bamboo and rattan coffee table for painting or refinishing, a mid century Danish style teak floor lamp,  a queen-sized traditional Paine furniture bed, an IKEA wardrobe (very inexpensive as it must be taken apart to be moved, and hey, it's IKEA), a vintage bureau, a Heywood Wakefield desk in wheat (the Crescendo, the one with the gorgeous curved front), a Nelson style bench, a reproduction French Provincial coffee tables, a wicker trunk, a record cabinet, a china closet, some lighting, lots of glass vintage light globes in several style/sizes, two very tall nicely painted bookcases, other bookshelves, a Charette drafting table base, heavy plastic Adirondack chairs, lots of wooden chairs of every size and style and a large rustic weathered wood kindling box. There's also a wheelbarrow, bench tools, a giant old vise, hand tools, (mostly contemporary ones) and lots of office supplies. Boxes of cleaning supplies, paints, home maintenance and project supplies will be for sale for $5-$10. There are also old cross country skis, crutches for when you break your leg using them, an L.L. Bean open top two-person kayak, and life jackets so you don't drown. For the aficionado of this cult-status vehicle, on offer is a 20 year-old Roadtrek converted Dodge van RV with about 200,000 miles on it with a brand new $1000 brake job. It is no longer registered but their mechanic says it will pass inspection, and it is great for local camping (within an hour or two of home) or use it for parts.  Photos will be posted daily starting Tuesday night and all will be posted by Friday morning and the address in Crow Point, Hingham will be posted Friday morning.
