It shows up close the hand-enameling (monogram). Each monogram was hand-painted on with a double border in a subtle red & gold. Austrian Late 1800s. Extremely rare Antique J & L LOBMEYR full glassware set of mouth-blown Austrian Crystal for 13. 56 pieces $1,500 C1880 Very rare to find a complete antique Lobmeyr set this large! The color is Lobmeyr’s “Patrician Gold Lustre”. It is so fine and luminescent that the pieces actually glow. Made of Lobmeyr’s famous ultra-thin muslin glass /crystal that is mouth blown by expert artisans in Vienna using beech wood moulds so delicate that the rims are only one millimetre thick. Hand-applied enamel monograms in the traditional Lobmeyr style w letters on top of each other. Lobmeyr was known for making custom monogram sets for wealthy clientele. These were made as a wedding gift for my wealthy great grandmother.
