Savvy Downsizing & Estate Sales
Description & Details
Savvy heads to the Glenwood neighborhood of Bethesda, MD, this Saturday and Sunday for a sale for a family with ties to both a pioneering Brazilian female Surrealist sculptor and American political power.
Highlights are works passed down through generations from her contemporary peers, such as Picasso, Braque, Léger, and Duchamp, including a Pablo Picasso plate, pencil-signed Georges Braque lithograph, a complete set of Viagem Pitoresca e Histórica ao Brasil, and oil on canvas portraits.
There are international finds in the dining and entertaining collections, including two monumental sterling silver bowls bearing Chinese hallmarks, as well as pieces from silversmiths such as Tiffany, Gorham, and various Brazilian and French makers, Stuart crystal stems, Murano glass, vintage Japanese Imari, and Chinese Export porcelain.
In addition, the family worked closely with the Kennedy family, resulting in a collection of JFK, RFK, and Ted Kennedy political memorabilia.
Moving to the second level, shoppers will discover an expansive selection of current clothing, most of which still bears the original retail tags (Sizes M/L/XL) from brands like Quince, Chico’s, and StitchFix, accompanied by footwear in sizes 8.5 and 9, brand-new Vera Bradley handbags and a variety of unopened, premium skincare.
Rounding out the sale is a selection of fine jewelry, including sterling silver bracelets, necklaces, rings, and pierced earrings, as well as gold cufflinks, chains, bracelets, and clip-on earrings.
