Over 300 pieces of Original Paintings from Glen Ranney  (1896-1959) his wife Mildred Ranney , and his daughter Jean Ranney Smith (1829-2011)  with Lithographs.

Jean Ranney Smith is a well-known Eastern Shore artist with several recognized artists in her family. Her father was a successful portrait artist and teacher, and her mother was a portrait painter. She is also a descendant of the 19th century painter William T. Ranney. Smith is a member of the Washington Watercolor Society and the Working Artists Forum. She graduated from the Minneapolis School of Art and Design, and started her career as a commercial artist. After moving to Arlington, Va., she began to paint the historic settings in and around Washington, D.C. Soon, corporate and private collectors, including the American Bar Association, AT&T, U.S. senators, Republican National Committee, National Museum of Women in the Arts, National Parks Services and the Japanese Embassy, were acquiring her work.

Glen Ranney was born in Wisconsin and raised in South Dakota. Ranney served in the Medical Corps in WW I. When he returned, he studied at the Minneapolis School of Fine Art, College Art & Design. From there, Ranney traveled to New York City to accept a scholarship at the Art Students League where he worked under George Luks, among others. Upon his return from NYC, he spent 1923-24 painting with fellow Minnesota artist Cameron Booth at the Leech Lake Indian Reservation in Minnesota.
Glen Allison Ranney produced both paintings & lithographs between 1935 and 1943, for the Works Progress Administration's Federal Art Project in Minnesota. The goal of the project was to employ artists, during the Great Depression, to produce "the first true portrait of America" - a record of the nation's varied people and places by local artists who knew those subjects best.
Ranney passed away in Minneapolis Minnesota in 1959.
