We have been given the green light from Frederick County and the State to host an Estate Sale this Father's Day Weekend. The Estate Sale will take place at the Johnsville Auction House 12517 Molasses Road, Union Bridge, MD. Note: this will not be a public auction. Rather an estate tag sale where items will be priced and negotiated with the auction staff directly. If you have a question about a piece please speak directly to the auction staff member and we will discuss. Please view the restrictions below and plan accordingly. We will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
This will be an open-air estate sale with restrictions.
- All attendees must wear a face mask while on the property.
- The number of people permitted in the estate sale area will be limited. As advised by Frederick County and the State we will be limiting access to the estate sale area to a total of 10-15 attendees, this number combined with the number of staff and family who currently live on the property will keep the possibility of exposure to a minimum. At this time our retail capacity could be higher, but after several discussions with the county and state we feel that this is both manageable for the Auction House and also helps ensure appropriate social distancing.
- 6 foot social distancing will be required by our Auction Staff and the participants.
- Attendees will be given a number at your vehicle when you arrive and we will be only permitting ten people to view the sellable items at one time. All other attendees will need to remain in their vehicle until given the green light to enter the estate sale area as directed by one of the auction staff. In the event the parking lot is full, you may be asked to return later, as this is our first attempt for an estate sale on Memorial Day. We want to be upfront and transparent, to ensure a smooth and safe environment for everyone involved.
- Sale hours - Friday, June 19th - 11:00 to 3:00, Saturday June 20th 11-3 and Sunday June 21st 12-3. There is no preview for this event as items will be priced.
- The auction house and it’s open-air pavilions will have merchandise available for purchase. Those items can be purchased via limited cash exchanges or credit card at this time. We are not permitting checks for this sale.
- Some restrictions have been lifter and we will have Tyco Seafood & Grill here on Saturday and Sunday as our food vendor
- Restrooms will not be available at the request of the local government. This is so that time spent at the auction house is limited and possible exposure is also limited.
- All other parts of the property are closed to the public, that includes access to our goats. While we know that this is a favorite, we have been advised to limit areas where people could congregate. This is to limit exposure.
- By attending, you agree to accept personal responsibility for any accidents or possible exposure during the estate sale and agree to hold the Johnsville Auction House LLC and it's staff harmless in this regard. As an attendee, you will be expected to follow all guidelines outlined above and any additional guidelines as communicated by Johnsville Auction House staff on the day(s) of the event. Failure to follow any established guidelines will result in your being asked to vacate the premises immediately.
We know that this will be different, we are excited at the opportunity to open our Auction House to the public as we have been patiently waiting for the opportunity to do so. If you have any questions please feel free to call the auction house at 410-775-0115. Photos will be posted on auctionzip and estatesales.net in addition to facebook.
