ATTENTION ART COLLECTORS:
Eclectic Attic is excited to offer another estate sale of FINE ART including 65 large-scale oil paintings by Helen Krysan, MFA a Michigan artist who came to be a practicing artist mid-life. She worked during the 1970s - 2010s. 6 years after her death her family wants her art to be enjoyed by art collectors in the community.
About the artist: Helen (Wisdo, Hzvidos) Krysan, 1924 – 2018
Born: Scranton, PA. Long-time resident of Westland, MI. Painter, MFA, Eastern Michigan
Education: 1970s Henry Ford Community College, Fine Art & Sculpture
Eastern Michigan University, BFA 1981, MFA, 1993
Helen studied under Richard Ruebenfeld, Professor, EMU Art Dept. at Eastern Michigan University
From 1980, “Cellar Roots”, Eastern Michigan University’s Magazine of Literal and Visual Arts: “Helen Krysan is working on her master's degree in fine art studies with a concentration in oil painting. Her photography, oil paintings and watercolors have been shown in Dearborn Arts and Crafts, the Ann Arbor Women Painters, the Ann Arbor Artists Cooperative Gallery, the Ypsilanti Radisson Resort and the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Some of her influences include Rothko, Tobey, de Kooning, Minor White and John Paul Caponigro. Krysan writes, “My desire is to communicate to the viewer a sense of peace and tranquility. After an absence from painting for ten years while working in the business world, I am very happy to be back in the art world pursuing painting and photography at EMU. l enjoy the interaction between student and instructor both in the studio and classroom. l look forward to years of fulfillment."
