A note from Zené Gibson's daughter, Talibah...
Her first trip to South Africa, she met kindred spirits, artists and clothing designers that introduced her to more art than she could house. As local people became more and more interested in buying art, my mom’s business “Africentricity” was born.

Africentricity was not only a way to sell art, it was a platform for my mother to educate her community about African history and culture.

Her friendships with the artists she met in Africa were a direct connection to bringing a unique experience to the city. My mom was able to create displays for local school events, she showcased art for major concerts, and hosted events for people looking to bring art into their homes.

She always dreamed about having a home in the Boston Edison District and selling African art.
