Our 3-Day Auction this month will be on Friday, March 18th at 6:30pm EST; Saturday, March 19th at 11am and on Sunday, March 20th at 12 noon, with the gallery opening at 11am. Our auction takes place at our gallery at 409 East Jefferson Avenue, Detroit, Michigan 48226. DuMouchelle’s auction requires no entry fee and free valet parking is available to those attending. The Auction Preview begins early this month on Tuesday, March 8th and all of the items will continue to be on view throughout the auction weekend. We are always closed on Sundays and Mondays – except auction Sundays once a month.
Please check our website at www.auctiondetroit.com for additional photographs and detailed information for each of the 1,500 lots scheduled for auction each month. Condition Reports are available to those who cannot view items in person during our auction preview - beginning this week on Tuesday, March 8th. If you cannot locate the Condition Information for a particular item on our website, then you are welcome to call the gallery at 313-963-6255 or e-mail us at info@dumoart.com with a request for additional information on that lot.
DuMouchelle’s Auction Preview continues all weekend throughout our auction. Paddle bidding in person at the auction allows for the most flexibility. But if you’re unable to attend, then phone and absentee bidding services are available - as well as internet bidding via www.liveauctioneers.com. Please call the gallery at 313.963.6255 or e-mail info@dumoart.com to place bids or to secure bid forms.
DuMouchelles accepts wire transfers, checks, cash, Mastercard, Visa, Discover card and American Express (upon approval). A buyer’s premium of 22% is added to each lot purchased (23% when bidding via internet on Live Auctioneers). Please note also that All Sales Are Final - so do take time for previewing or obtaining a condition report. If you have a sales tax exemption certificate, please provide it ahead of time.
Should you need to have an item shipped, either locally or out-of state, DuMouchelles can provide you with a list of reputable delivery companies. Please ask us for our recommended list of shippers, if you do not have a shipper of your own.

Friday, March 18th
Friday features includes an extensive collection of African, Inuit, Native American and Pre-Columbian art including masks, stone carvings and pottery. Fine jewelry pieces including a 4.00 ct natural ruby and diamond earrings, a 1.80 ct blue diamond and 14kt white gold ring. Fine art including an oil painting by Sarkis Sarkisian (American 1909-1977), Robert Earl Wood (Canadian 1919-1980) watercolor, a Russian hand painted icon and Jim Clary color lithographs of famous Steamers of the great lakes. Furniture pieces highlighted by a Queen Ann dining table and 8 chairs with two additional 16” leaves extending the table to 96”. An American maple slant front desk circa 1800, a nine section teakwood stackable cabinet set and an English mahogany games table which folds up for storage and finally a Mason and Hamlin mahogany grand piano. Fine crystal including Waterford and Tiffany & Co. Hand woven wool Persian carpets, rugs and French tapestries. Fine porcelain figurines including Lladro, Hummel and Royal Doulton. Rounding out the Friday auction are an assortment of gold coins including an Israeli 1974 proof, ‘David Ben-Gurion Commemorative’ and a Tobago Trinidad $100.00 1976 proof coin.
Saturday, March 19th
Featuring a bevy of beautiful decorative arts and furnishings from private collectors commencing with 18th century Georgian silver, followed by Russian cut glass bowls mounted with Faberge silver; Spanish art nouveau and Gorham “Chantilly” tea sets; and flatware services by Tuttle, Towle, Gorham and International. The sale continues with sparkling sconces attributed to Maison Bagues, French bronze-mounted urns and candelabra, and a monumental pair of Sevres style floor urns; bronze sculptures by Jean Jacques Pradier, de Blezer, and Karl Hackstock, as well as others after d’Amodio, Houdon, Moreau, and Chiparus; German porcelain plaques and Meissen figures; art nouveau glass by Steuben and Quezal, and contemporary studio pieces by Carole Perry, Michael O’Keefe, and Lundberg; Waterford crystal stemware and lamps; English Regency tea caddies, Victorian marquetry furniture, and Louis XV style clocks; a variety of oriental rugs from semi antique to modern; and from a Bloomfield Hills lady, Chinese porcelains and snuff bottles, Japanese Satsuma and carved netsukes.
