January’s evening sale begins with a highly collectable Vintage 1937 Martin & Co. D-28 Acoustic Guitar and continues on with fine Chinese Decorative Objects, over 30 lots in total, including carved ivory and jade pieces as well as porcelain. A variety of silver flatware and hollowware are also being showcased, including 117 pieces of Italian 0.800 silver flatware, a Manchester Silver Co. Sterling Flatware Service and a very interesting Russian Silver Cigarette Case by Ivan Krutikov, Moscow, c. 1896-1908. An assortment of rugs and carpets are being offered, antique and modern alike, which includes Kashan, Heriz, Sarouk and Hamadan carpets. Over 40 lots of fine jewelry are also featured which includes pieces by Bulgari, Tiffany & Co. and David Yurman.

The Saturday auction offers unique and beautiful decorative arts from the 19th and early 20th century, featuring one of the most interesting designs by Belleek of Ireland—the “Chinese” tea urn on stand. Dating from the 19th century, the creamy porcelain urn is flanked by dragons while supported by the wings of another on the matching stand. Other noteworthy items include lovely hand-painted plaques by KPM; German porcelain figures; Lalique “Perruches”, “Druide” and “Saint Francois” crystal; a Pablo Picasso “Joie de Vivre” plate; and a Handel scenic desk lamp. Oil paintings, watercolors and woodblocks by Edouard Febvre, F. S. Rousseau, Augustin Rouart, Scipione Simoni, Pal Fried, attributed to Louis Grimshaw, Paul Jacoulet, and Kiyoshi Saito; bronzes by David Aronson and Glen Michaels. Also, a George III sterling tea and coffee set by Craddock & Reid; Reed & Barton ‘Francis I’, Towle ‘King Richard’, and Dominick & Haff ‘Renaissance’ sterling flatware; Russian icons; English papier mache; a Jules Desbois bronze tray; fine jewelry and a variety of oriental rugs from semi antique to modern. And from a West Bloomfield collector, Chinese and Japanese porcelains; Quezal, Tiffany and French cameo glass; and Brilliant period cut glass by J. Hoare & Co., Hawkes and Libbey.

Sunday offers an impressive selection of fine oil paintings including an outstanding Myron Barlow titled “The Gossips” originally purchased by Charles Wilson, of Wilson Dairies. Also from the Estate of John B. Pohl of BIrmingham paintings purchased from Wally Findlay Galleries, Chicago including works by Michel-Henry, Jeanette Leuers, Claude Cambour, Jacques Eitel, and Bernard Gantner. Of outstanding quality is a work by Louis Aston Knight as well as works by Hanny Vander Velde, William Dorsey [California scenes] and Warren Sheppard [nautical and seascape]. Over 100 lots of fine arts in Sunday session alone. Other selections of note: Berlin paintings on porcelain with the much sought “KPM” trademark, a Dale Chilhuly blown centerpiece, sterling flatware [King Richard by Towle] and sterling holloware. From Perrysburg, Ohio is a consignment of over 100 lots of jewelry: numerous pieces by Tiffany & Co., a 8 ct sapphire ring also by Tiffany as well as a Ceylon star sapphire weighing 26 cts.
