Friday night’s auction commences with a1996 Custom Harley Davison “Dyna Low Rider” from the Estate of Michael T. Assarian, and continues on with a variety of interesting objects, including Antique Hanging Apothecary Show Globes, 1891, and a Bradley & Hubbard Slag Glass and Patinated Metal Aladdin lamp from the Early 20th Century. And from the Estate of Jere A. Van Wormer, Belleville, MI: an Original Upright Stuyvesant Pianola with 33 Music Rolls, c. 1900, as well as a collection of Juke Boxes, six lots in total, including the Seeburg “Trash Can” Symphonola, Model: 146 M, circa 1946; and Vintage 1960’s Bicycles, including a Murray Classic “Jet Fire X-65” and three “Luxury Liner” bicycles from AMF Roadmaster. There is also a wide selection of Fine Art, over 100 lots, ranging from the Drypoint and Etching “Sweet Mystery” by Louis Icart (French, 1888-1950) to Antique Greek Icons, as well as over 25 lots of Fine Jewelry including a Tiffany & Company Sterling Silver Necklace, 16” in length, a 5.23 ct Tanzanite and 1.00 ct Diamond Ring and a pair of 14 kt White Gold and 0.45 ct Diamond Earrings.Saturday, February 11th at 11:00 am
The Saturday auction opens with a collection of fine sterling silver from an important local estate featuring a sumptuous mixed metal punch bowl by Gorham with a matching ladle. Having a beautiful spot-hammered texture and grape bunch handles, the 19th century bowl and ladle are a true testament to Gorham craftsmanship. Additionally by Gorham, an 1896 loving cup engraved with the names notable Detroiters, including Warren, Newberry, Moran, and Hendrie. Other significant decorative arts are a Royal Vienna presentation urn on stand with a portrait of Emperor Franz Joseph, a gift from the emperor himself to a U.S. Rear Admiral; Lalique “Courges” vase in amber and a Steuben “Cluthra” vase of bright green; Liverpool creamware jug for the American market; Dresden porcelain vases and covered urns; French porcelain and bronze twelve-light chandelier; a set of two Italian carved gesso and wood figural tiebacks; a Stickley Brothers “Quaint” sideboard; oil paintings, watercolors and drawings by Lucien Moretti, Joseph Scheuerle, Glenn Cooper Henshaw, Seguino, and others, as well as exhibition posters for Marc Chagall and Alexander Calder; Steuben stemware; Japanese ivory netsuke; a collection of modern art books from a local collector; a variety of fine jewelry and oriental rugs from semi antique to modern.Sunday, February 12th at Noon
