The Friday evening sale offers a variety of fine and decorative arts, dazzling jewelry and watches, oriental rugs and furnishings. The auction opens with a 19th century Orientalist painting by F. Herink followed by Noel H. Leaver watercolors, a Schneider centerpiece, Lino Sabattini “Persepoli” vase, and sterling silver table ware; a Kittinger mahogany sideboard and Biedermeir chest of drawers; and French clocks. Fine jewelry offerings include a 24.50ct emerald and 7.10ct diamond bracelet; a 28.10 sapphire and diamond bracelet; and 8.00 ct. ruby and 5.40ct diamond necklace; and a fine vintage Rolex gold filled wristwatch. For the firearms collector, two Smith & Wesson snub nose 38 caliber pistols, and a Japanese Samurai sword dated 1860 and signed Yoshisada Chikanori on the tang; and rare sports memorabilia, including 1934, 1940 and 1984 Detroit Tigers Championship Team Commemorative baseball ‘black’ bats; a 1939 Detroit Tigers team signed spring training program; a Detroit Tigers Home Jersey signed by 26 players including Kaline, Mark “The Bird” Fidrych, and more.

The Saturday auction presents an eclectic blend of decorative arts and antique furniture hailing from the local estates of Walter Connolly, Grosse Pointe Farms, and John P. O’Hara, Bloomfield Hills; and various private collectors. The sale opens with a colorful Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre punch bowl designed by Daisy Makeig-Jones, followed by a Ferdinand Duvinage ivory and marquetry jewel casket and Edward I. Farmer sterling and Chinese jade box. Sterling silver includes an impressive pair of Georg Jensen Pomegranate candelabra and Acorn flatware, a Dominick & Haff coffee set, and a smattering of hollowware and serving pieces by Reed & Barton, Gorham, Tiffany & Co. and Georg Jensen. Antique furniture highlights include a carved marble fireplace mantel and surround originally from the library of the Alvin McCauley home, Grosse Pointe, and a carved marble fountain from the William A. Fisher home, Detroit; a Gustav Stickley oak cabinet, Queen Anne and Georgian tables and lowboy.
