DuMouchelle’s auction previews are conducted at the gallery for one full week prior to the sale, including a late evening preview on the Wednesday prior to auction until 8:30 p.m. Condition Reports are available to those who cannot view items in person. DuMouchelle’s auction requires no entry fee and free valet parking is available to those attending. Doors open at 5:30 pm on Friday, 10am on Saturday and at 11am on Sunday. Paddle bidding at the auction allows for the most flexibility. But if you’re unable to attend, then phone and absentee bidding services are available - as well as internet bidding via www.liveauctioneers.com. DuMouchelles accepts wire transfers, checks, cash, Mastercard, Visa and Discover card (amount upon approval). A buyer’s premium of 20% is added to each lot purchased (23% when bidding via internet on Live Auctioneers). Please note also that All Sales Are Final. The Friday evening sale opens with a 1995 Jaguar XJ6 four-door sedan, champagne exterior with fine leather and burl wood interior, and less than 50,000 miles, from an important Bloomfield Hills estate; followed by an antique firearms collection from a Franklin, Michigan estate, including an 18th c. blunderbuss coach gun with inlaid silver wire in the stock, numerous Kentucky flintlock and percussion cap rifles, pistols and derringers; and a clock feature including a Gilbert #8 hanging and standing, over 30 lots.  From private collectors, over 70 lots of fine jewelry, including 18kt white gold and diamond dome earrings set with over 10cts of diamonds, and a 2.20ct diamond and platinum ring; a Louis Icart etching; an English 19th century mahogany chest-on-chest, Louis XVI gilt wood and curved glass curio cabinet; wool Persian rugs, carpet and prayer rugs, such as a beautiful Persian Kashan silk ‘Tree Of Life’ prayer rug with fine gold thread throughout; as well as gold and silver coins, early Federal Reserve notes and foreign currency.

Featuring modern and contemporary graphics from an important Bloomfield Hills, MI estate – artists include:  Joan Miro, Tom Wesselmann, Nancy Graves, David Hockney, Sam Francis, Charles Fazzino, Frank Stella, Klaus Oldenburg, Keith Haring, Max Papart, Yaacov Agam, Karel Appel, Alex Katz and more.  Also included in the collection is a large acrylic painting by Robert Schefman. Additional modern and contemporary works of strong interest:  graphics by Larry Rivers and Andrew Wyeth, oils by David A. Maas and Michel Delacroix as well as sculptures by Marshall Fredericks, Carl Milles, Cody Fuhr, Harriet Whitney Frishmuth, Kitty Cantrell and Robert Wyland. American paintings in the sale are highlighted with works by Douglas Arthur Teed, Robert Hopkin and Raymond Yelland, and a watercolor by Daniel Ridgway Knight. The front and back of the quilt has been sewn by hand along the edge.  The head and foot of the quilt each have a triangle edge.  The right and left sides of the quilt have been finished in a half hexagon edge.   The quilting is very simple and follows along the edges of the quilt pieces. One small 1/2" stain. This quilt has been pieced together and quilted by hand.  The only machine stitching is along the area where the outer white border has been attached and along the finished edge.  The quilting on the white panels and outer border is a fine example of white work and similar to trapunto quilting although it is not as plush as trapunto.
