The Friday evening sale opens with a 1995 Jaguar XJ6 four-door sedan, champagne exterior with fine leather and burl wood interior, and less than 50,000 miles, from an important Bloomfield Hills estate; followed by an antique firearms collection from a Franklin, Michigan estate, including an 18th c. blunderbuss coach gun with inlaid silver wire in the stock, numerous Kentucky flintlock and percussion cap rifles, pistols and derringers; and a clock feature including a Gilbert #8 hanging and standing, over 30 lots. From private collectors, over 70 lots of fine jewelry, including 18kt white gold and diamond dome earrings set with over 10cts of diamonds, and a 2.20ct diamond and platinum ring; a Louis Icart etching; an English 19th century mahogany chest-on-chest, Louis XVI gilt wood and curved glass curio cabinet; wool Persian rugs, carpet and prayer rugs, such as a beautiful Persian Kashan silk ‘Tree Of Life’ prayer rug with fine gold thread throughout; as well as gold and silver coins, early Federal Reserve notes and foreign currency.

The Saturday auction offers beautiful antique decorative arts, 18th & 19th century furnishings, as well as Paul Evans Cityscape and Design Institute America contemporary furniture, from private collectors and an important Bloomfield Hills estate. Highlights of the sale include early 20th century Pewabic and Moorcroft pottery; Lalique crystal table swans, vases, and ‘Lucerne’ dessert ware; sterling hollowware and flatware sets by International, Kirk & Son, Gorham, Towle, K. Uyeda, and a six-piece tea set with tray hand crafted in Mexico; Tiffany Studios bronze bookends; Chinese and Japanese porcelains, ivory and jade carvings, bronzes and metalwork; French and German porcelain; Waterford crystal; a George III mahogany knife box, an 18th c. oak slant-front desk, Windsor chairs, and a William & Mary style lowboy; and a lovely “Emblem of America” silk embroidery, 1808, New Hampshire. Over 75 lots of fine jewelry and a variety of oriental rugs from semi antique to modern.

Featuring modern and contemporary graphics from an important Bloomfield Hills, MI estate – artists include: Joan Miro, Tom Wesselmann, Nancy Graves, David Hockney, Sam Francis, Charles Fazzino, Frank Stella, Klaus Oldenburg, Keith Haring, Max Papart, Yaacov Agam, Karel Appel, Alex Katz and more. Also included in the collection is a large acrylic painting by Robert Schefman. Additional modern and contemporary works of strong interest: graphics by Larry Rivers and Andrew Wyeth, oils by David A. Maas and Michel Delacroix as well as sculptures by Marshall Fredericks, Carl Milles, Cody Fuhr, Harriet Whitney Frishmuth, Kitty Cantrell and Robert Wyland. American paintings in the sale are highlighted with works by Douglas Arthur Teed, Robert Hopkin and Raymond Yelland, and a watercolor by Daniel Ridgway Knight. Old Master and 19th c. oils include works by, attributed to or in the style of David Ryckaert III, Egbert Van Heemskerck, Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, George Morland and many more. Also featured are over 75 lots of jewelry, a 22’ long Sarouk carpet; Steinway reproducer grand piano, antique English grandfather clock, Paillard cylinder music box on stand and Fujiwara Mitsusada and Hoin Yosenn hand painted six section screens.
