Friday features a large African art collection consisting of carved wood and metal statuary, masks and fabrics from the Henry Stallings II Collection, Detroit. Firearms including a German Luger, with two magazines and fitted leather holster, c1942. A beautiful Colt Single action army Nickel plated revolver, .357 cal., in its original box, c1969; a Smith & Wesson Model 37, .38 cal ‘Air Weight’ revolver and a U.S. Springfield model 1826 musket, Type III, percussion cap conversion, c1842. Along with Pennsylvania and Kentucky rifles, flint lock and percussion cap pistols and early black powder pin fire revolvers. A beautiful WWII era Katana. Fine porcelain pieces including Meissen, Royal Copenhagen & Delfts. Fine jewelry, including a pair of 3.00 carat sapphire and diamond cluster earrings; 1.76 carat sapphire and 1.00 carat diamond ladies ring. Hockey, Football and baseball memoriablia. The Saturday auction presents beautiful decorative arts and antique furnishings from multiple private collections and estates. The sale opens with a Meiji period silver vase by Kagawa Katsuhiro, followed by an Austrian silver tea and coffee set, and a Reed & Barton sterling presentation tray; a Chinese carved nephrite sculpture of Guanyin at an impressive 46” tall, a carved white jade covered urn, and an embroidered green silk dragon robe. Additional items of note include a set of three porcelain wall sconces by Meissen; an Italian marble orientalist bust by Battelli and bronze sculptures after Drouot and de Luca; a Tiffany Studios bronze counterbalance lamp base; Lalique ‘Algues’, ‘Ange’, and ‘Femmes Antiques’ glass ware and other French decorative ware; Charles, David and Daniel Lotton studio glass and an Ingaborg Lundin for Orrefors vase; Herend porcelain animal figures and “Rothschild Bird” tea service; sterling flatware sets by Gorham and Towle; and a Pennsylvania Dutch bride’s box. Paintings by Noel Georges Bouvard, Michele Federico, Edward Heinrich Grohl, and Morelli, and a hand-colored print after Makovsky depicting “A Boyar’s Wedding Feast.” Antique English furnishings include a chest-on-chest, tall case clock, and slant-front desk; an American mahogany secretary bookcase; French chest of drawers and a semanier, both with marquetry inlays and marble tops; semi antique to modern oriental rugs, and fine jewelry—over 100 lots.

The Sunday session is highlighted by 200 offerings of fine arts including paintings, drawings, graphics and sculptures from old master to contemporary and American to European and Russian. A partial list of the artists includes works by: Marie-Joseph-Leon Clavel I Will, Henry Ward Ranger, Arnold Marc Gorter, Paco Young, Michael Coleman, Franz Xavier Wolf, George M. Kesslere, Jim Foote, Robert Natkin, Jean-Claude Gaugy, James Abbott McNeill Whistler, Albrecht Durer, Philip Pearlstein, Rufino Tamayo, Karel Appel, Peter Max, Fritz Olsen, David Hockney, Ievgueni Lanceray and Alexei Gratcheff. Also highlighting theSunday session is a group of c.140 jewelry selections featuring diamonds and colored stones in rings, bracelets, earrings, necklaces, brooches and pendants. Four of the selections have GIA reports including: a. 1.92 ct. brilliant cut diamond solitaire ring, 2.22 ct. natural ruby and diamond pendant necklace, 4.34 ct. red purple spinel and 1.20 ct. diamond ring and a 1.12 ct. red ruby and 1.18 ct. diamond ring. Rounding out the features of note is a nice selection of Oriental rugs featuring Nain, Kashan, Kerman, Balochistan, Sarouk, Chinese and more.
