This sale will include 60+ pieces of incredible original artworks by Werner Koepf, who began his artistic career in New York City during the late 1920's. Werner was accepted into Yale University School of Art and Architecture in 1952. Most of the art in this sale was created in the late 1940's and 1950's. Werner exhibited in many museums and galleries including Contemporary Arts Gallery and Grand Central Palace in New York City, Newark Museum, Art Institute of Chicago, Stamford Museum, and museums throughout Connecticut including Yale University Art Gallery. Werner Koepf is listed in Who's Who in American Art.
The art ranges in size from 11 x 14" up to 24 x 96". Most of it art is unframed oil paintings + some other mediums. It is being sold by the nephew of the artist who inherited it upon the artists' death in 1992. The highest auction record that I could find was $5900 for a painting. These pieces will range from less than $100 to around $1000.
There will be a fine selection of original Mid-Century Modern furniture including works by Eames, Nelson, Nakashima, Noguchi, Katavolos, Fritz Haller, and other lesser designers. Also includes MCM lamps, ceramics and glassware.
