Original Erzgebirge Nutcrackers, Authentic German wood carvings of Stag Deer as well a Hunter with dog and also a couple Steif Bears and 5 or 6 Hermann German Bears with great outfits. Also have many German Hummels in a variety of styles and sizes as well a very beautiful large Crystal Vase that my Grandmother Anna brought back from Germany in 1957. Also a very nice carved Eagle that I bought in the old East Zone in Germany on a trip to Germany in 1986.
Many great German steins all with magnificent decorations and some very old. Also a stein from 1989 when the Berlin wall was taken down which includes a piece of the wall on its lid as well as a photo showing the artist at the wall removing pieces of concrete.
Also a great set of Rosen Thal China made during WWII at their Germany Factory in 1944 with a beautiful meadow pattern. A marvelous set and never used.. Brand new...Never knew my parents had it! Also a set of very nice Syracuse China from the mid 1950's in great condition! Plus two very unique and beautiful large glass plates by the famous Murano Glassworks of Venice, Italy in 2010.
Lots of other German artwork such as engravings and etchings and plenty of German cookbooks and old historic books. Also a large number of really old circa 1920's photo postcards from mainly Germany.
Also lots of HO gage train vintage rolling stock kits (100 total) from the 1960's and earlier as well as some great vintage buildings and structures from the same period. Lots of other model railroading items as well. It took me a long time to collect these great old time wooden kits, which to me look much better than their plastic counterparts.
Just too many items to mention here, like a beautiful large wooden bowl made in New Zealand from logs submerged for centuries which I carried on the plane as my overhead baggage. WOW!
Also a large silver coffee set from 1936 vintage which was made in Milan, Italy and taken from a captured Italian vessel by my father who was a U.S.Army Secret Agent during WWII. Set includes a large coffee urn with silver exterior, engraved with the boat motif, and has ivory rings on its handles. Set also includes a smaller cream urn as well as a large engraved silver plated plate and two each of silver plated knives, forks, and spoons in its original cloth carrying case. This is quite a unique WW!! artifact.
My father was in charge of the Northwest Quadrant of Austrian and had six other agents working for him capturing many German High Command Officers fleeing Germany after the war ended in early May 1945, He also single handedly captured the second in Command Gestapo Officerc in the Vienna Office. I have his German Reich Bayonet as well as his Gestapo ID Badge in silver metal.
And probably the most interesting thing I have from Austria is my father's antigue men's Charivari Trachtenschmuck or decoration worn by men in Bavaria and Austria. It is quite old ( my local jeweler said 1870 or so and includes a nice eagle claw, a young antler horn, an old Thaler coin from1766, and most impressive of all... A set of baby Badger teeth or Dachs Zahne in German. Quite a piece.
