Schmidt's Antiques is pleased to announce a public presentation and sale of works by area artist Leon Makielski (1885-1974) entitled "A Portrait of Ann Arbor". The public sale and exhibition will continue each Saturday through the month of May, or by appointment.

The selection includes over fifty works, directly from the family, many never before offered for sale. Featuring Midwestern landscapes and cityscapes, showcasing numerous images of Ann Arbor, as well as portraits, including his notable depiction of bridge builder Ralph Modjeski, and perhaps one of his most famous portraits, Mrs. Penelope Peterson. Schmidt’s is proud to represent the heirs of this eminent American artist with such close ties to the great state of Michigan and the Ann Arbor area.
